Nice 2b back comrades. Its most disheartening listening 2some of us who are supposd 2b adults talk about sending delegates 2d MPR. I tel u by d time ur tru wit dat u'll just realized dat u've actualy exposed ur high level of ignorance d more. What are even ur fears wit making d publication straight away. Dat d process may b cancelld abi? I tel u,wit wat has already happened so far, by d time d list comes out,d percentage of people who actualy applied 4d job dat wil make d list wil shock some hopefuls 2d xtent dat many'll never submit an application when next NNPC advertises. Do u think since 2006 dat NNPC recruited publicly last til even dis week, dat they've not been absorbing fresh graduates, experienced hands, etc. Or do u think d staff members have not been resigning, getting sacked, dieing, etc. What do u even think you'll ever get frm d MPR when u see her. Deceitful promises ofcourse, except u've not taken time 2listen 2her b4. Wake up guys cos he dat is down needs fears no fall. As 4me, i would rather remain wit d status-quo than make myself an extralarge laughing stock in a market square. Selah!!!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

Reason not emotions is what we all need here.....someone mentioned Ikemba's phrase "Because I am involved" and it really got me thinking if we are not being stampeded to rash ends "because we are indeed involved"

Does the current structure and activities level of NNPC and DPR support recruitment? If you are the CEO of any of these Corporations will you want to increase your Operating/personnel cost without first addressing the inefficiency of the organization? Why do we consider it so far fetched that the PIB which is designed to realign the MDA's under the MPR is directly responsible for the delay being experienced?

I am not against a demand for clarification but I suggest the publication be factual and not laced with innuendos neither should make disparaging remarks on persons based on mere suspicion and assertion of forumites who have been branding "reliable source" for months. Let us not entangle this process further with a libelous publication. Do not impute a scam exist where there is no proof. I trust we can make the case on the gestation of this recruitment and the parallel of 2008 without being derisive without cause.

Fine point BraveJustice, Is this publication to seek clarification or to vent and let off steam Friends the former should be the focus and we must note that no matter how plausible some of our speculations and fears are, they remain unfounded and if we want to be taken serious and not seen as another political distraction from a faceless group the publication must stay focus to getting the MPR to state what the challenge is with the recruitment.

What if we are all wrong about our judgements and perceived assumptions about the whole process. What if we've started mixing emotions with our sense of moral judgements, what if most of our assertions are based on feed burners from NHJ. We have dwelt too long on the forum and we have gradually become a mix of all there is in NHJ. I will remind us who we are, we are the finest from a pool of tens of thousands that applied, we should still be able to reason and deduce facts that holds sway. No doubt this has overstayed, most of us cannot apply for another GT Application again, but we should not be the ones to kill the giants in us.
The one issue that removed credence from the way and manner the NNPC handled the process is the prolonged silence on their part. To those fingering the NNPC, Do we have facts and figures to show that the NNPC has been absorbing fresh graduates(staffs)? Can we lay hold on any story we postulate here. We need facts now and not fiction. We are undertaking a venture that will either make or mar the whole process if we judge wrongly. If we must put the publication then we must be able to say who we are and we must address it to either of the following.
    1. The President, the MPR or the Board of the NNPC/DPR. We should also note that no editorial board accepts faceless publications to that magnitude.
    2. In advent of addressing it to any of the above except the President, we will only beg for answers to the unending wait: since we don't have facts to juxtapose our assertions here.
    3. If we address to the President, then we are asking the President to intervene in the matter.
    4. If we just put up an advertorial, then we intend to win the sympathy of Nigerians, human rights activist, labour unions alike. Then we can pour out all the misdemeanors of the NNPC/DPR with their recruitment consultant(Phillips Consulting) with proofs, facts and figures.
At this stage, it will interest us to note that each option has its attendant pros and cons. Let's build on these options and from there we can have follow-up actions and plans.
We all have sources at least, at one point our sources were feeding us: it is only natural now that we also seek some advice from our various sources about our impending actions. The obvious remains that we will keep silent no more. I hope we know that NHJ is accessible to all even the NNPC/DPR board, so we don't have to pretend as if they are not aware of proceedings here.

Well, all I can say is that d efforts of d members on this thread is commendable, but I advice that U thread with caution and diplomacy, from a reliable source who happens 2 be a close friend and colleague working with NNPC Abuja, computer section, he said dat he was shocked seeing people(connected) coming with employment letters 4 graduate trainee and experienced positions while he is aware dat d process has not yet been concluded, he therefore advised my broda who happens 2 be an NNPC hopeful accordingly to 4get abt. d recruitment as NNPC have never been sincere with their recruitment, 2 God be d glory, my broda is presently with Bristow helicopters and is undergoing a 2yrs aircraft maintenance engineering training at Zaria...NNPC recruitment is all a fraud, just pure scam...

This is not a matter of sentiments. If not that this thread is in a public domain those of us who seem doubtful of NNPC long standing fraudulent recruitment patterns and who still make arguements as if they just came back to the country after many many years of sojourn, i would have just given you some impeccable facts and data with regards to names and locations regarding some positions which hitherto appeared on the job advert but on which people have been employed recently. But be that as it may,for me i'll just keep that aside for now and continue with my alternative approach to the matter. I feel quite chocked with time and its like i'll have to take another vacation for some time so as to meet up with some engagements. Goodbye all,one house, & Jah bless.

@Jeffisme and patorinni, you guys just dropped in from the UK, or you probably live in America ?. your postulations are too idealistic and consequently fugitive utopia. it shows you guys are pure and innocent guys but you cannot extrapolate from that to explain the decayed situation in Nigeria. let me assure you and reiterate with emphasis that no letter is coming out from those towers without decisive actions from the hopefuls, this recruitment from the onset is scam intended and politically induced.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

Happy sunday all. One of the best ways to fight when there are no much facts is to list as many things as possible against the enemy. Then as he/she makes defense, we can now be looking at some alternative ways it could have been done better. And pick holes. Let me also say that these people do not have good plans for us. So, if we can scandalize them I think they will be on defense. Again, according to a source, Everybody who attended the interview was shortlisted for appointment, But now, they are removing peoples name from the list and giving employment to their own people. If such is true how do u produce facts for such. This is the reasons why if it is possible to seek a human right lawyer, the better for us. Some of them can really be human right in their costing. We may equally form a coalition to Abuja with some human rights activists. To hit the ground again. Or inform somebody like the noble Wole sohinka for an employment related article. This may look expensive but may be almost free.

@princealex and korokoro please furnish debrown and bebrief with you claims. These are the kind of facts we need, the more concise we are the better.
@seunlove please digest my post again. I stand for whatever the house decides to do, but we should have clear sense of judgements and good plans.
On the day of the protest, I was the only hopeful @ the PH venue. If there had been another hopeful we would have been able to stamp our presence. what lessons did we learn from that protest?

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

Seunlove, You maybe right about this process being a scam from the onset, but again you may be wrong. Do you have substantiated facts or you intend to go to press with the creative imagination of persons who this forum whose equivocal posturing is legendary.

I find it curious that it is same set of Prophets and those with "reliable information" that are now clamoring for media war based on "new information" they now have. I recall that they were privy to Board Decision in the past, even confirmed that PTI has been reserved, some on the DPR thread months ago saw there names at the FCC........ I have always said it is not official until it is official.

I can come here and say I KNOW 30 persons who just resumed at one of the NNPC subsidiary......is these kind of unverified stories that we want to add to a simply fact finding publication?

While an extended process may not be common in GT recruitment, the same cannot be said for Experienced Hires in this industry. The only difference for me is that there is a precedence of NNPC abandoning a process.

I am not asking that the publication not be made, I only believe we must separate myth from reality. If that is Utopia, time will tell.

    Happy Fathers Day............................
