"these batch of recruits have not been inducted yet, they are already causing us trouble and embarrassment! Lets cancel the process and advertise a new vacancy. Afterall, its our decision to recruit or not". I do hope we succeed but, we should be as gentle as Doves but wise as Serpents. One who takes the road of peace is not a coward but the bravest and smartest of all. Aluta spirit will take us nowhere. This is the real world- wake up!

its erroneous and wrong for you to assume that i would discourage the protest...why?
who broke your heart before....i only told you the process was dead from where i sat, and you began to call me names.[
QUOTE=kafox;623528]......fellow Hopefulls, i say it again....
D protest must hold! U dont know d power of a protest until u carry out one. Its more powerful dan unaswereable prayers at times.
Even if it doesnt give out our letters, atleast it'l give d icpc/efcc some job since d presidency hav been soft pedalling d subsidy probe reports. I guarantee u dat d presidency isnt resposible for d delay and may not even know abt it bcos we'v not let dem know. In dis country if u dont say ur problem no one'll solve it for u.
Brethren dis is d tym for our voice to b heard!
Imagine a simple retirement by abt 20 board members is more important dan over 44,000 fine graduates dat risked deir tym, resources and lives to sit for deir useless test.
Abeg we no go gree!!! Leave JA out! Leave Vin20 out! They'l only discourage u or worse still break ur hearts again.
    The protest must hold.....[/QUOTE]

This protest must hold God's grace, people saying all sort of stories is just 'piss in d wind' giving us a job is not a privilege bt a right. we don't care if d process is cancelled bt lets stop dis sharp practices. life continue wt or wtout nnpc, bt letting dis go 'is a slap on my face.

@Dennis bergkamp & ABCD ur cowardise is shameful and a big disgrace. The former even asked what protest in naija has yielded +ve results. R u kidding or sleep talking. What did the subsidy protest achieve, what do strikes and protest by pengasan, asuu and co achieve. Guy park well, and come up with anoda excuse.
Though I don't believe there is any reaction to the planned protest @ the towers as we speak or that we'll be organised by the 4th but that doesn't mean I'm against a peaceful protest. From ur post seems u have exhausted civil means of getting results, so what other option is left.
Protests r a norm in every civilised nation of the world I don't see y naija is any different. In the past year there have been protests in London,Greece, Spain,Portugal,France,Canada, Australia, US etc all achieving meaningful results.
Citizens like u r what make this country as corrupt and lawless as it is, cos our leaders can afford to do as they please cos they know there will be no repercussions or reactions, and that we all will pray about it. The sooner u understand ur rights and hold ur leaders accountable, the "best" for naija.
Looking forward to a well organised protest.

Monday, June 4, 2012, 8am is appropriate for the planned peaceful demonstration for NNPC 2010/2011 Recruitment Exercise. For how long our leaders would continue marginalize us? I support candidates to converge at ABUJA, LAGOS , PORT-HARCOURT offices . We shall bring this issue to a logical conclusion with peaceful domo and legal means, this is democracy.

Persistent protests were able to bring down Military dictators from their seats in government, talk less of reviving a dead recruitment process. Pls all, let no one discourage us from this brave move. Trust me; we have nothing to lose but a lot to gain. After all, we’ve been calm all the while and nothing is happening. That was how the 2008 recruitment died a natural death. It is going to be different this time around, 2010 recruitment must resurrect. We will change the way our leaders treat the masses. Stop giving all these cowardly excuses, why will they make us go through physical and emotional stress and also sign off for a huge fund in our names, if they were not ready for it in the first place. Since they’ve gone this far, the right is no longer theirs but ours and we must take it. There is no going back, from June 4th till the day the letters are released.

NAFDAC, NSITF recruitments after that of NNPC had been concluded shortly after 2012 budget was passed. When NNPC knew that they could not employ the successful candidates, why advertised for jobs? Why called us for interviews? Why we were given e-payment forms for transport reimbursements? NO , NO our leaders are not doing the right things and they are laying bad examples for the younger ones. This PEACEFUL PROTEST MUST HOLD, NO VILOENCE, NO VIOLENCE.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

Did i hear Dennis Bergkamp ask which protest in Nigeria has ever yielded any positive result? Last year, nationwide protests by labour and civil society organisations pulled down the price of petrol from N140 tn N97 a litre Eventhough we didnt revert to the former price, bringing down the price alleviated a lot of untold sufferings from the lives of ordinary Nigerians. Again, protest by the same set of groups including the Save Nigeria Group(SNG) forced president Jonathan to be sworn in as acting president after the death of former president Umaru Musa Yar'Adua when most of the powers brokers and kingmakers never wanted him be in charge at the presidential villa at Aso Rock. And to tohbad & all those with funny comments, i'll just let you know that big corporations actually assign people the responsibility of monitoring activities concerning them including what people are saying about them, public perception of their image, activities of their competitors, as well as any external activities by outsiders which might impact negatively on their corporate image. In the industrial sector, it is called INFORMATION MANAGEMENT, Or INTELLIGENCE GATHERING, or CORPORATE IMAGE MANAGEMENT. I've worked in two of such big corporations previously and is still part of a multinational presently so stop asking me questions that will only expose your status as an industrial neophyte. As for the planned protests with or without those of you who are either chicken-hearted or are working as stooge to the NNPC, go back and tell them that it is NO RETREAT,NO SURRENDER COME 4th JUNE 2012.
