yl i join in congratulating those that didnt just mute d idea but have also made serious moves 2wds airing our plight 2some listening ears out there, i want 2simply suggest dt u guys should perhaps make d write up an open letter 2 Mr President. i fear dt if it is just an article it may just be garbaged in some obscure pages of d news papers wtout generating any sympathy 4rm d appropriate qtrs. however, if it is drafted 2be a letter 2 Mr President copied 2some other relevant authorities like d minister, GMD nnpc, etc, there is no way they or their aides can afford not 2read it. also, i think Bebrief did a 9z job, but i also think dt perhaps we can do better. Hence, i implore some comrades who have been well-proven in d art of penmanship like Prof Salvage, Lapoetical n co 2help in vetting ds write up so dt we come out wt something dt will really be much more plausible n generate d much desired attention. Getting d best will help tell our story; dt d Hopefuls n by extension d Nigerian grads aint just second class. cheers!
@all, the article by @Bebrief will hopefully be published in Leadership Newspapers tomorrow. I will let you know other papers that will publish it as soon as I get the info pls. And don't be surprise if you see this come up as a motion on the floor on the National Assembly...as we are working towards that now.
Hi guysss. With respect to the subject matter, i would also like to suggest we contact the brain behind sahara reporters (Sowore Omoyele) as well. He is an activist independent reporter. He is always interested in things like this as well as exposing corrupt leaders and organisation. The earlier we implement this last strategy which i believe by the grace of GOD would be the last straw to break the camels back. I think they would be forced to act.
@All, pls buy a copy of Leadership newspaper tomorrow 26th Jan, for our publication. Other national dailies: Vanguard, Thisday, Sun etc will follow soon. @debrown has been very instrumental to all these moves.
I wish to use this opportunity to request all forumites who have close contacts with their Honorable Reps. at the lower house of the National Assembly to bring this issue to their notice in view of a jointly sponsored bill to mandate those responsible in releasing the long awaited appointment letters to do so, asap. I believe this is our surest way to get what we want we want, in a democratic dispensation.
Also, those who have access to NTA or other TV channels can move for an aired interview with the Hon. Minister of Petroleum Resources on the on-going reforms in the oil and gas sector, where questions on this 2-year delay in release of appointment letters can be raised. Any other outlet for e-publishing or social media is highly welcome.
@Alanu Loluwa, the last paragraph has been modified to be more subtle. @happinext, as I mentioned earlier, the article has been modified from it's original version to accommodate the same aspirations of DPR hopefuls.
May God bless our efforts.
@ud, you are free to put up an open letter to Mr President. What we need are people willing to make the right moves... I only think an open letter to Mr President should be more appropriate if we have a pressure group.
However, someone has suggested that we should form a pressure group and come to Abuja so that he can take us to the Chairman House Committee on Petroleum-Upstream. The questions are: what will be the name of our pressure group? How soon can we form it and who should represent us? We need volunteers in Abuja and it's environs. For me staying in Abuja, I can volunteer my car to convey those willing to go to the National Assembly, if and when we decide to do so.
@meet_tope, I agree with you that selling our cause to Sowore Omoyele of Sahara Reporters, will be very useful to our cause. But we need someone who can provide his contacts.
We need all committed hands on deck.
am happy we are on course...we cant continue playing second fiddle..d time to act is now...i will get leadership newspaper 2mao.
I strongly believe it is better tittled as AN OPEN LETTER TO MR PRESIDENT. It wil arrest attention immediately and all we want to achieve is wide readership in the government quarters
@All, the article will be in The Sun, Vanguard and Leadership Newspapers tomorrow.
@ALL: What is happening now on this thread is a typical Tunisia uprising and the recent fuel subsidy removal had equally gingered moral. I thank every member for their timely support. We await to read the dailies tomo. However, while that is expected tomo, those with close contacts of some honorable members should discuss in respect to the struggle. ONE BIG LOVE
