Description

Responsible for ensuring plant mechanical integrity and implementing projects to improve plant and facility reliability. The role will support all mechanical engineering activities and will be pivotal to proactive and predictive maintenance activities.

Task Competencies:

-Implementation of Mechanical Integrity activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
-Develop hardware solutions to achieve reliable operation.
-Implementation of Predictive Maintenance activities – Condition Based Maintenance including Manufacturing Routines, Vibration Analysis and Oil Analysis.
-Working with operating teams to agree critical equipment and maintenance approaches.
-Capturing key asset data, as leading and lagging indicators.
-Develop the use of CMMS.
-Be prepared to attend site out of hours to help solve plant issues including weekends
-Produce Benefit/Loss accounting reports.
-Be responsible for proactive, predictive and planned maintenance programs.
-Optimise Risk Based Inspection and Registered Pipework activities.
-Lead RCA activities for all relevant failures.
-Assessing proactive maintenance best practice and making recommendations for adoption.
-Lead and direct site mechanical engineering team comprising of approximately 6 people.
-Be capable of giving technical advice to plant and facility teams.

Requirements

Experience:

-Significant engineering experience within manufacturing industry, with previous accountability for improvement and plant maintenance within a top tier environment.
-Graduate of Mechanical Engineering.
-Experienced in reliability improvement of rotating equipment.
-Experienced in Mechanical Integrity of vessels and piping systems.
-Solids handling experience an advantage.

Knowledge:

-Engineering degree qualified (BSc. or HND) or equivalent by experience.
-Knowledge and understanding of solids handling and chemical processes
-Competent in the use of standard software packages and pivot tables.
-Good level of knowledge of change management and project process.
-Good level knowledge of relevant ‘best practice’ engineering techniques (e.g. RBI, CBM, FMECA, RCFA etc)
-Awareness of relevant legislation, standards and approved codes of practice including Pressure Equipment Regs and DSEAR.
-Knowledge of Process Safety Management
-Familiar with plant maintenance activities such as NDT techniques, jointing systems, maintenance procedures for pressure testing, online leak sealing, pump seals etc.
