Job Title: System Administrator

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description: Our client a manufacturing company is in need of a system administrator who will:


  • Will be reporting into the IT Manager and will be located in Lagos, Nigeria
  • Become first level IT contact for Infrastructure and Application Support
  • Implementation and first level support of Local/Global systems
  • Own all central IT infrastructure (servers and network) issues till successful
  • Support the IT Manager to implement and manage Information Security and closure, including change management Compliance (IT Controls, etc.) in the business.

Skill Sets Required:

  • Degree/Diploma in Electronics or Computer or IT Engineering
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic PC and Network troubleshooting skills
  • Prior experience in Application Support (2+ years)
  • Patient and courteous with users
  • Persistent and should follow up activities till completion

Experience:

  • Should have a minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in managing IT infrastructure, implementation and support of Business Applications.
  • Prior work experience in Africa and in a MNC is preferred. Should be familiar with all typical processes of a business (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply chain, HR).

Technical Knowledge:
Sound conceptual knowledge of ERP (MS Dynamics AX preferred), LAN/WAN Networking, Wireless Computing and Information Security.

Personality:
Good communication and presentation skills, high energy, focused on delivery, good team player and good problem solving skills.

Scope of Activities:

  • Responsible for working with various business functions including Production, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales and Marketing, HR, etc. for Nigeria. The candidate will be supporting the IT Manager in discharging the IT responsibilities for the business.
  • On call user guidance and navigation help
  • Training on business applications to users – New users as well as refresher courses for existing users
  • Follow up with AMS Team (central application support team), external IT service providers, central infrastructure support team and users for resolution of problems
  • Define and resolve system related issues, such as technical limitations, data conversion requirements and software interfaces.
  • Effectively communicate application changes and issues to business groups and central IT teams in India.
  • Monitor infrastructure and business application systems (e.g. issue logging and performance) for uptime and availability as per business needs.
  • Keep up-to-date with the applications assigned, communicating with peers and central IT teams in India and business users within the company.
  • Manage all business specific IT issues till successful closure, including change management
  • Support the IT Manager in implementation of Information Security and Compliance (IT Controls, etc.) in the Business.
  • Generate MIS reports as and when requested by the Business.
