Job Title: Senior System Administrator

Job Location: Lagos

Job Summary
The Senior Systems Administrator serves the KPMG technical expert on systems administration within the Information Technology Services (ITS) unit. This position serves as a specialist on multiple operating systems and platforms supporting enterprise-wide scale computing infrastructure. The Senior Systems Administrator applies significant professional experience and training in information technology to the most complex assignments requiring:

  • development and installation of operating system software, systems programming and modification of operating systems, performance analysis, database maintenance and management, security administration, and management of data storage.
  • Responsible for overseeing the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of large-scale LAN/WAN/Wireless network infrastructure
  • The Senior Systems Administrator will be called upon to provide guidance and project direction to other staff members, and will serve as an expert resource within the unit on systems administration issues


Duties

  • Designs and implements complex local and wide area network systems, supporting enterprise-wide applications or large scale computing applications involving hundreds of users.
  • Manages a network of 1500 users
  • Establishes or recommends policies and procedures for system use, services and security.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains multiple servers, ensuring compliance to the KPMG Global standards
  • Manages security, data safety and integrity and disaster recovery.
  • Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software applications.
  • Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Plans and implements system security procedures, to include firewalls, host and client access, file permissions, and user accounts.
  • Develops and implements various training, job aids, and instruction for users on the use of operating systems, networking, and applications
  • Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
  • lead or guide the work of other ITS staffs.
  • Performs other information technology duties as required to support the work of the unit.


Job Requirement

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
  • Relevant Microsoft, Cisco or equivalent professional qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant core IT networking experience in a multinational environment
  • Broad knowledge of current IT development and integration technologies and best practice.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • 5+ years of expertise in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including: firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points and controllers, and monitoring applications.
  • Intermediate to expert understanding of firewall configuration and maintenance
  • Good understanding and ability to support a telecommunications and VOIP system
