Job Title: Production Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • To lead the entire Operations Team as a member of the Plant leadership team within the Lagos Plant, while ensuring at all times assets are managed, maintained and operated at world class standards in the areas of safety, quality and cost.
  • To be an active and integral member of the facility management Team (FMT). Providing input and guidance on strategic and tactical plans for the Plant.


Principal Accountabilities

  • Directs and discuss high levels of safety awareness through 100% employee participation, within his/ her area of responsibility, while at all times using lean principles, to drive a behavioural change.
  • Establish, maintain and implement working conditions with high levels of housekeeping, that encompasses 5s principles across the entire operations disciplines.
  • Drive Full compliance with Government Regulations and Corporate Policies within the area of responsibility.
  • Establish and ensure 100% implementation of plant and Corporate objectives and plans for improved productivity and manufacturing cost by executing plant efficiency and plant capacity and improvement modification projects.
  • Develop and lead TPM across the entire facility in conjunction with the maintenance and Process improvement teams to ensure increased asset reliability among all converting assets.
  • Drive and lead Lean across the entire facility, while at the same time providing direction in terms of the Lean 4 pillars.
  • Ensure Departmental performance is maintained within set standards and that Lean manufacturing framework is implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with the expenditure budget allocated. Promote continuous operations benchmarking and development of KPI's while driving continuous improvement in terms of cost management.
  • Ensure that all products are produced to specification with minimal variability, using ISO 9002 System. Drive quality awareness and adherence among operations teams.
  • Liaise with Business and supply chain teams, to drive the improvement of customer service delivery while at the same time improving on working capital cost targets.
  • Create an environment of continuous improvement through empowerment, education and training.
  • Develop a sense of belonging by creating a workplace that encourages high involvement and maximises the capabilities of team and individuals.

Job Requirements

  • B.Sc/HND in either electrical, mechanical engineering or operations management.
  • 10 years post tertiary qualification in engineering and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior operations Leadership role
  • Sound technical knowledge of diaper manufacture and Excellent leadership skills.
  • Good understanding of industrial relations dynamics, finance, planning and administration.
  • Ability to organise, lead and delegate subordinates and maintain effective control.
  • Ability to lead a multi-dimensional / continuous operations.
