Job Title: Field Research Marine Biologist

Job Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

  • A Field Research Marine Biologist is needed to participate in a field study to characterize the biological environments of specific area of coastal zones of Lagos.
  • Characterize aquatic vegetation types and associated habitat(s) within study area
  • Gather field data on marine and littoral vegetation within study area
  • Identify aquatic fishing nurseries, fish habitats, and fish feeding grounds
  • Identify any staging area for residents and migratory birds in study area
  • Provide quantitative estimate of aquatic fauna and avifauna that are present within study area
  • Determine the presence of protected or endangered species within study area


Requirements


  • Individual is required to be enrolled in postgraduate program in Marine Biology or Freshwater Biology (preferably a PhD degree)
  • Individual must be comfortable working outdoors in boats, individually or as a member of small team
  • He must have demonstrated experience in aquatic biotic survey
