OPEANS Nig. Ltd was established on 16th February, 1988 with RCR No. 0359184, Cert No. 47113 by Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) under REGISTRATION OF BUSINESS NAMES ACT, 1961, as OPEANS ENTERPRISES NIGERIA and was later incorporated under the Company and Allied Matters Act 1990 as Limited by shares on 14th March, 1995 with RC NO. 267722 and name OPEANS NIGERIA LIMITED.

OPEANS started her first business in the same year 1988 with Shell PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT COMPANY NIGERIA LIMITED by training SPDC SWAMP/OFFSHORE PERSONNEL ON PERSONAL SURVIVAL SWIMMING AND ADVANCED SWIMMING/LIFESAVING, AQUATIC FIRST AID/GENERAL FIRST AID, CERTIFICATION OF SPDC PERSONNEL AND CONTRACTORS PERSONNEL ON SURVIVAL SWIMMING.
These same services were extended to other OIL and GAS producing companies and servicing companies the same year.

Since then, OPEANS has been promoting safety awareness to the OIL and GAS industries in Nigeria.

Our Vision is to:

* Provide personal survival and rescue training services for all at risk at home and work places.

* Maintain accident and injury free trainings at all times.

* Updates and improvement of staff in matters of HSE/CAS as it affects them and their job.

* Improved standard of house-keeping at the pool side, welfare, facilities, offices and training equipment.

* That the prevention of loss of any kind is the responsibility of all and sundry through well informed management with active employee involvement.

* Improved personnel training in general HSE/CAS management

* We create general awareness in defensive driving and casualty management in emergency response situation.

* We establish and maintain close relationship with all segments of the local population during the execution of our projects to better understand their concern, needs and aspirations.

Charles E. Nwoye

Charles E. Nwoye, MD/CEO of OPEANS Nigeria Limited is a marine safety professional and has been a practicing aquatic safety trainer/examiner since 1982.
He has obtained several certificates in Marine, Health, Safety and Security Courses from reputable institutions and organizations in Nigeria and Europe.

OPEANS Nig Ltd being managed by Charles E. Nwoye has been the pioneer and leading Marine and Safety Consulting Company who have trained thousands of oil and gas workers in all the major multinational oil and servicing companies in Nigeria, Africa and beyond.

He is presently the vice chairman of Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals (NISP) Rivers State branch, Chairman Royal Life Saving Society Nigeria Rivers State Branch, National Director of training, Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) Nigeria under RLSS commonwealth and International Life Saving Federation (ILSF).
He is also a board member, Rivers State Swimming Association.

Above all he is a professional life saver, life guard, rescue operator on land, air and water.
