Re: BE A GRADUATE ENGINEER ,REGISTER WITH NIGERIA SOCIETY OF ENGINEERS
@Wale and Co, i like this thread particularly because coincidentally i was also searching for some info on NSE. Now i ve a question, what of those that were inducted jst after graduation. Cos in my case, i had my NSE induction into graduate membership, but i am yet to get any registration no. SO i ve been trying to contact my school to find out, no lead yet. What do you think of that route?

Re: BE A GRADUATE ENGINEER ,REGISTER WITH NIGERIA SOCIETY OF ENGINEERS
goin tru schools at time may not yield good result ...i cud remember when i was in 200 level, i was forced to purchase the student membership form for 500 naira...till i passed out i was never given acknowledgement letter let alone recognising me as a student member..wat i think is that some lecturers in a branch may enforce their student to purchase the form at branch level but never registered them at national level...if you have been inducted without graduateship number..its means you are still a student memeber..that may be a branch arrangement..not an headquater arrangement...but i will advise you register afresh with your [email protected] can not add the tittle 'engnr' to your name...you can only do this when you have written and passed the graduateship exam and become a corporate memeber and confirmed as coren registered...our branch election was postponed thats why i cudnt complete my search on other branches

Re: BE A GRADUATE ENGINEER ,REGISTER WITH NIGERIA SOCIETY OF ENGINEERS
Fellow Engineers, all information needed to register with The Nigerian Society of Engineers are available at their official website. My advise for everyone interested is that it is better to register with society of Engineer first, either as a graduate member or Associate member and then proceed to register with COREN after 4 years of graduation. But the Graduate membership registration with N.S.E is without exam and project, while the Associate membership registration is with exam and project writting. Now the logic is that, the same project written for N.S.E Associate membership registration can be used for COREN registration, all you need to do is to rebind the project by changing the purpose for the project. Here is N.S.E website : www.nse.org.ng. Pls, send me mail on: [email protected] if intersted in COREN registration form, it isFREE

Re: BE A GRADUATE ENGINEER ,REGISTER WITH NIGERIA SOCIETY OF ENGINEERS
my broda its not as if engineering graduates dont want to register..........the branches of NSE nationwide have different way of admitting members.....for example my own case....last year i paid for all the registration process and even attended the workshop in Port Harcourt.........on the day of inter one professor from the Rivers State university of science and technology, frustrated our efforts because corporate members who didnt redeem there dues signed for majority of us as our sponsors. The Professor even told some of us that studied Geology and are Practicing chemical engineering for the past five years that we cannot write the professional exam. He told me personally that i shuld quote him to the National Executive Secretary. Because of that i didnt write the exam, but my freind in ABA who studied Geology with me and is practicing Petroleum Engineering for the same years with me was allowed to write all the exams. What can u say about this?

seriously, this Thread looks like a joke on the outside but by the time you follow thru, it is as rich as this great house is. Well, you can't pay dues if u are not gainfully employed. But i think these Engineering Bodies need to rebrand themselves, they shld make it more likeable aside from all those unnamed benefits.
