There are indications that the Federal Government is set to recruit massively

into the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in order to meet

local and international security challenges facing the country.

This is even as the Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro made public, plans

to seek permission for additional hands into the Corps from the presidency. A

move, which he said was geared towards deepening the operational services of the

Corps, who have demonstrated absolute commitment and determination to bring to

an end the insurgency that has bedeviled the country in recent times.

Comrade Moro who expressed satisfaction at the achievements of the NSCDC , at

the just concluded Civil Defence Officers Summit in Sauka , Abuja, said the

move, was a quick response to the recognition of the services of the Corps in

averting security challenges in different parts of the country in 2012 .
