JOB DESCRIPTION
•Provide day to day on-site supervision of drilling operations and prepare reports to the Drilling Operations Superintendent
•Serve as the primary contact with the rig contractor and third party personnel at the rig site to ensure that operations are performed safely and cost-effectively in accordance with approved well program
•Logistical planning and coordination of personnel, equipment, supplies and services to ensure that twenty four hour operations are maintained
•Responsible for well control, real time drilling optimization, casing tallies, cementing calculations and completion tallies and spaceout
•Organise and order necessary services and equipment to conduct drilling, completion, workover and testing operations
•Responsible for enforcement of approved Safety, Health, Environment and Security procedures to manage operational risks and prevent harm to personnel, environment and equipment
•Ensure that third party equipment is adequately and properly maintained.
•Ensure compliance with all government and other appropriate regulations; including education of all rig personnel on safety and related issues.
•Ensure that well control, marine safety and other drills are held on a regular basis per company guidelines.
•Ensure accurate and adequate reports and records are kept regarding operations, equipment and evaluation
REQUIREMENTS OF CANDIDATE
•Candidates should possess a minimum of Bachelors degree (B. Sc/ B. Tech/ B. Eng) with a minimum of second class upper division (2.1) in any of the following
Engineering disciplines – Mechanical, Chemical, electrical, civil or Petroleum Engineering
•Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
•Requires a team player with good interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a multi-discipline, multi-cultural environment
•Good written and Oral communication skills, integrity, be zealous and quick to acquire new expertise through training
•Prior cognate experience in rig operations or engineering will be an added advantage.

Does anyone know if fresh graduates will really be considered for this position?

we ld just have to wait and see now, dont we?

The reason i ask is cos, fresh grads rarely ever get hired as drilling supervisors. Drilling supervisors AKA company men are either guys that have gone through the rig life from roughneck through driller/ DD with years of experience or college grads that have worked either as MWD hands, drilling engrs etc..
The "rig experience will be an added advantage" that was included in the ad is what raised my question.

Valid points you raise there bruv, yet it is still a fact that they called for both fresh & experienced graduates. Perhaps they would be considerate in their dealings with the fresh grads. We only have optimism as our refuge word. Lets just wait, hope and see!

You got "zero matches" because there are currently no openings. The ad came out june 21st and closed july 5th.

Do not let your emotions get the best of you. How will it benefit the unemployed if the oil majors lose their licenses? Maybe they received a lot of applications and they're still sorting them out?
