    EXECUTIVE PLACEMENT

    Location: Rivers State, Nigeria

    A State Government Development Authority requires competent persons,
    capable of providing professional performance with good team mindset for the following positions:

    Assistant Director, Projects (Ref 189/12)

    Responsibilities

    1. Oversees and coordinates the work of the project division
    2. Manages infrastructure and engineering/construction projects
    3. Develops and negotiates project contracts, alongside Technical Consultants
    4. Recommends the selection of Contractors for services


    Qualifications and Experience


    1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related fields
    2. Minimum of 13 year relevant experience
    3. A combination of training, education and experience in procedures and project management practices
    4. Professional affiliation with a recognized professional engineering body including the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
    5. Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) would be an advantage
    6. Must be knowledgeable in CAD
    7. An MBA would be an added advantage.


    Assistant Director, Development Control (Ref 190/12)

    Responsibilities:


    1. Manages the Development Control Team and supports other divisions in achieving the priorities and objectives of the Authority
    2. Prepares evidence for appeals, enquiries, hearings, written representations, reports for legal proceedings and attends court as necessary
    3. Scrutinises all planning applications, monitors their progress and grants approvals
    4. Advises the public, developers, statutory bodies and other interested parties on matters relating to the control and enforcement of development in conjunction with the Legal Department


    Qualifications and Experience:


    1. Minimum of 13 years relevant experience
    2. A Bachelor’s degree in Town/Urban Planning and Estate Management
    3. Relevant professional qualification(s) will be an added advantage


    Supervisor Level, Architect (Ref 191/12)

    Responsibilities


    1. Prepares and presents feasibility reports and design proposals
    2. Directs activities of those engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents
    3. Prepares tender documents for contracts
    4. Manages projects and coordinates work of contractors
    5. Conducts tests and inspections of products, services or processes to evaluate quality or performance


    Qualifications and Experience

    1. Bachelor of Architecture
    2. Minimum of 10 years relevant experience
    3. Professional affiliations with a relevant professional body


    1. A Masters degree will be an added advantage.


    Supervisor Level, Projects (Structural Engineer) (Ref 192/12)

    Responsibilities


    1. Coordinates all project / design engineers and CAD technicians from the initial planning stage through final construction.
    2. Works directly with the internal and external engineering teams
    3. Reviews plans, specifications and special provisions
    4. Reviews contractor submittals including QC plans and supervision
    5. Conducts audits / interviews / inspections of material suppliers to document their ability to produce/supply the required quality materials


    Qualifications and Experience


    1. Bachelor of Science or Masters degree in Structural and Civil Engineering or any related discipline
    2. Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in civil and /or structural engineering, with advanced technical knowledge and training
    3. A registered Structural Engineer(SE) and Professional Engineer (PE) license would be an added advantage
    4. Membership of a recognized professional engineering body including the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and/or Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is required.


    Officer, Operations & Maintenance (Mechanical Engineer) (Ref 193/12)

    Responsibilities


    1. Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer generated reports
    2. Researches and analyses customer design proposals, specifications, manuals and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
    3. Researches, designs, evaluates, installs, operates and maintains mechanical equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements applying knowledge of engineering principles
    4. Investigates equipment failures and diagnoses faulty operation and makes recommendations to maintenance crew.
    5. Designs test control apparatus and equipment and develops procedures for testing products


    Qualifications and Experience


    1. HND/ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or any related discipline
    2. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
    3. Professional affiliations with a recognized professional engineering body including the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
    4. Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) would be an advantage

    Officer, Operations & Maintenance (Electrical Engineer (Ref 194/12)

    Responsibilities


    1. Prepares and or modifies electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs
    2. Controls project cost estimates, quantity takeoffs and manpower requirements for proposals, forecasts and changes orders
    3. Supervises, coordinates and provides technical direction and on-the job training to Drafters, Designers and less experienced Engineers
    4. Inspects completed installations and observes operations to ensure compliance to designs, equipment specifications, operational and safety standards
    5. Reviews plans submitted by independent contractors


    Qualifications and Experience


    1. HND/ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or any related discipline
    2. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
    3. Professional affiliation with a recognized professional Engineering body including the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).

    Senior Officer, Planning (Urban Planner) (Ref 195/12)

    Responsibilities

    1. Designs, promotes and administers government plans and policies affecting land use, zoning, public utilities community facilities, housing and transportation
    2. Confers with Government, Lawyers, Developers, the public and special interest groups on land development matters as it relates to the Authority
    3. Recommends approval, denial or conditional approval of proposals
    4. Advises planning officials on project feasibility, cost-effectiveness, regulatory conformance and possible alternatives
    5. Reviews and evaluates environmental impact report pertaining to private and public planning projects and programmes


    Qualifications and Experience:

    1. Designs and drafts architectural, mechanical, electrical and site plans using computerized and standardized drafting techniques according to applicable codes, bylaws, regulations, specifications and standards
    2. Prepares preliminary project budgets and cost estimates for submission to the supervisor
    3. Reviews and approves consultants' building plans and specifications to ensure they meet standards and needs
    4. Maintains and updates building plans, technical information, catalogues, drawings and other related information.
    5. Performs other assigned comparable or transient duties which are within the area of knowledge and skills required by this job description

    Officer, Surveys (Land Surveyor) (Ref 198/12)

    Responsibilities


    1. Plans, organizes, and directs work of one or more survey parties engaged in surveying earth's surface to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, mapmaking, land division, titles, mining or other purposes.
    2. Researches previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys
    3. Determines methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control
    4. Coordinates findings with work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with project


    Qualifications and Experience


    1. HND / Bachelor’s degree in Land Survey
