Job Title: Project Engineer
Job description

  • Study bid documents thoroughly and prepare for pre bid queries.
  • Meet clients and finalize project in terms of time frame, complications involved and risks.
  • Prepare budget and identify working capital requirement.
  • Monitor periodic production overviews and efficiency and report to the project manager.
  • Assist in preparing method statements, optimize them in consultation with the works manager and monitor the practical implementation.
  • Support project manager in preparing and monitoring specifications for subcontractors and contracts for suppliers.
  • Contribute to the efficient execution of projects.
  • Implement the system of Local Purchase Orders in consultation with project manager.
  • Prepare internal and client reports in collaboration with project manager.
  • Keep in close co-ordination with clients and appraise project progress.
  • Keep track of timelines, penalties that are likely to be imposed, suggest methods to prevent same and take corrective actions.
  • Obtain necessary clearances for the equipment engagement and demobilizing.
  • Fulfill local rules and regulations in co-ordination with the clients as per terms of the contract and submit various guarantees in connection with the project to clients.
  • Carry out site inspection and ensure safe working environment.
  • Carry out quality controls and follow up on quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Project Engineer in construction, dredging or a marine related field.
  • A university degree in Civil/Ocean Engineering, Construction management, or related dredging experience.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Healthy and physically fit.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • An outstanding work ethic and organization.
  • Result oriented.
  • Professional certification in PMP/PRINCE2 would be an added advantage.
  • Must have understanding of construction terms, scheduling and planning concepts.
  • Good communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft word and excel.
  • High degree of integrity.

Job Title: Site Superintendent
Job description

  • Prepare design reports for clients in consultation with project manager and/or master, Barge master.
  • Assist with preparation of daily CAD reports.
  • Maintain detail reports with respect to the floating pipeline and land based pipeline and communicate in detail with all stakeholders.
  • Responsible for arranging for trucks and cranes for loading and unloading.
  • Maintain reports of the on-site stocks and internal diary.
  • Deal correctly with machines, hazardous products, transportation equipments and waste.
  • Control and monitor labour, material and equipment expenses. Assist in the preparation of monthly cost forecasting summaries.
  • Prepare and expedite project deficiency lists.
  • Raise and discuss relevant issues at the job site meetings.
  • Contact, schedule and coordinate all subcontractors, suppliers and utilities.
  • Oversee the crew scheduling in collaboration with the tug manager.
  • Interpret information in the scheduling programs and correct if necessary.
  • Collect all necessary information with respect to possible claims in consultation with project manager.
  • Carry out quality controls and follow up on quality standards.
  • Take and maintain adequate measures in the event of incidents and dangerous situations.
