Thanks Bebrief for your well articulated instant response. @ Roz and others, your concerns were rightly noted hence bebrief's response,I believe this should pacify any fraying nerve for now. We all remain committed to this course and would at all times do all we can by the special grace of God to ensure the successful completion of the process. I would however encourage us to try and remain calm as anxiety and desperation could push us into making grave mistakes we may only regret later. I'd advise we 'look less and pray more'. Granted the month of July seems to have come to an end but who knows, he who laughs last may just be laughing best. Better late than never and biblical speaking says "better the end of a thing than the beginning."

@bebrief ,i agree the letter should be addressed to the minister in a soft and cajoling language, because at this moment we need to thread with caution.lets thank her for NNPC then demand for DPR.lets be praying cos i know our prayer is on course so lets intensify more pls, because no one can do but almighty GOD.

@All, below is a draft letter to the Hon. Minister. We need as many people as possible to sign this letter which is to be published soon. Thanks in advance for your comments/contributions. Please note that this letter has to be brief and straight to the point.

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE HON. MINISTER OF PETROLEUM RESOURCES, ARCH. (MRS.) DIEZIANI ALLISON MADUEKE BY THE 2011 BATCH OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES FOR JOBS AT THE DEPARTMENT OF PETROLEUM RESOURCES (DPR).

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) sometime in March 2010 advertised for various positions and conducted tests in June and Dec 2010 through a recruitment agency ERA Professional Services. Successful candidates were invited for final interviews at Lagos Resource Centre, No.9 Anifowoshe Street, Off Kofo Abayomi between April and May 2011 while the list of selected candidates was approved in July 2011 by the Federal Character Commission (FCC).

Hon. Minister, the Budget as your respectable self may be aware, has since been approved for the DPR, but here we are still waiting for our deserved letters in the third quarter of the 2012 fiscal year.

Hon. Minister, we sat for the tests and were interviewed several months before the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) cadre that has finally received their letters a couple of weeks ago through the intervention of your good office and will be resuming work in August this year, while our letters are still pending in the face of an imminent overhaul of the oil and gas industry as proposed by the Executive in the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).

We are appealing to the Minister and management of the DPR to lend a listening ear to our plea and respond by concluding this long-running recruitment process and release offer letters to successful candidates.

We are well aware of the challenges of your important office, its dynamism and the turbulence that has dogged your sincere and seminal efforts to uplift the oil and gas sector.

We humbly pledge our commitment to give our best to support your efforts to strengthen the sector, as we hope to be absorbed soon by the DPR, with your kind intervention.

    GOD BLESS YOU!
    GOD BLESS DPR!
    GOD BLESS NIGERIAN GRADUATES!
GOD BLESSTHE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA!

    Signed

@debrown, kindly skip ''in the face of an imminent overhaul of the oil and gas industry as proposed by the executive in the PIB'', by so doing d sentence wil b direct and apt. 2. Avoid bringin to her knowledge that most hopefuls already knw their fate via d FCC list, hence replace successfl candidates with hopefuls.

@debrown, also try reminding her that she has always promised to ensure that the FG's dream of job creation in the oil and gas sector becomes a thing of reality, hence bringing the long running recruitment to a logical conclusion wil help win her the confidence of Nigerian youths on her plans to transform the country's oil and gas sector.

Mr debrown youi really deed a wonderful job, but in the heading you need to do some little adjustment/correction which says "BY THE 2011 BATCH SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE" officially the list of successfull is not yet out, even though some might have seen their names at FCC but that does not make it real. And by going with that statement the minister may use it as something if the proces does not meet with her interest. I hope you will look into this positevely.
