...I believe the questionnaire they asked us to fill during the application-filling process was an important part of the selection, as most folks could have passed that shl test, but after sifting through all the answers provided, i "THINK" they still cut down the no. Thats an assumption anyway, so don't take it literally even though its a guided assumption. Truth is, its very important to do all the research you can do in answering questions as crucial as this, as your either clinching the job or not, could be hinged on it!...

Questions like that in an application process never should be answered in a hurry because it reveals your trainability and other crucial competencies!
Supply and finance hopefuls....don't worry too much because what will be will be.
I also think that because of the high number of applicants for these categories, that's why it's been delayed.
All the same, it is well!
delayed does not absolutely mean denial especially in this case.

Henry Roads, Really sorry man...i don't know why dey hv to make the feedback this way. imagine the long anticipation since June...only for them to reject now.
But it may interest u to know dat accordin to Diageo the peeps that applied for "Graduate supply" and "Graduate Finance" roles were extremeli enormous & so they probably had to use high cut-off marks and strict screening of the questionnaire to select graduates for those roles. still I think it wuld have been really fair if they had let everybody know his/her faith asap.

CONTEXT/SCOPE:
The Lagos Brewery produces various Guinness products which are made for the local, national and export markets. The Brewery works in harmony with its sister breweries in Benin and Aba to ensure that costs of the delivered products are optimised. The role in question is based in the packaging department.
DIMENSIONS:
FINANCIAL
Responsible for the electrical or mechanical aspects of ensuring the lines operate as desired, and packaging of beers, RTDs and non-alcoholic malted beverages.
ROLE COMPLEXITY
The role has moderate complexity in that the incumbent needs to influence as well as provide leadership and direction to craftsmen and technical operators at varying skill levels. Good communication skills are a key role component.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
The role reports directly to the Packaging Engineer. The role provides mentoring and guidance to the various craftsmen who operate either on shift or on day duty, as well as to the various contractors who are brought in to support operations and/or improvement on an as needed basis.
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The role requires the incumbent to take particular ownership of the maintenance of one line, and share his expertise with the engineers supporting the other packaging lines.

Take responsibility for the delivery of engineering of outstanding quality in the packaging department
Use his expertise to support his engineering colleagues and his manager (the Packaging Engineer) to deliver equally high quality engineering elsewhere in the department.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
University or equivalent institution/ professional body qualification in engineering is necessary. Preference would be in the fields of mechanical or electrical engineering, but other fields of engineering can be a possibility depending on the experience base of the incumbent.
Minimum of 2 years experience in process industry, ideally working in a production environment.
Familiarity with SAP manufacturing and with the principles of World Class Manufacturing (or equivalent) would be an advantage.
Familiarity and experience with office software such as MS Excel and MS Project will also be an advantage.

Mine was quite different, i was called 4 interview, and received the rejection mail 1 week later.
Diageo has nothing to offer you henry roads cos they dont know your worth, believe me. You are far out of their league..you've got capabilities n core competencies that can be leveraged anywhere and its so unfortunate diageo dont know this fact. You'd soar high most definately cos you are a success and I quite know you know that too. So diageo or no diageo, its with high confidence i proclaim that you'd make gigantic strides in your career pursuits, trust me, cos stuffs like these achieve just one aim - it make us stronger and stronger.
Yeah..also with you on this one. Applied for same position too. Guess they've not started calling for graduate finance.
Henry Roads & others who just got the bounce mails...what year did you guys graduate? I heard from a source dat dey were strict with d year of graduation too. so it may not be based on the tests or questionnire alone after all....
I graduated Feb 2010, studied Mech Engr and finished service two months ago. I also got info before i received the mail that Supply is kinda not open too, as in no much space or so. God is Able, keep the Faith.
Diageo has done their worse o. I finally got their mail today. Though unfavorable, I still thank God anyway, cos have been left off the hook. I have to keep searching. The battle continues o. I just pray that those yet to receive their mails be successful in this recruitment process.
