Well,... Know ur AutoCAD very well, also if you can quickly get these books: PIPE DRAFTING AND DESIGN (Author PARISHER) and THE PIPING GUIDE for d design & drafting of industrial piping system By David R. sherwood.
You can download these 2 books from wwwdot4shareddotcom and make sure u read the PARISHER up to at least chapter 8! ( not much)

Note that this info is peculiar to graduate of mechanical engineering or training engineer willing 2 develop ur career in piping design.

Guys if u hv been invited for the trainee position then test as at 2009 when i did is as follows:
Part 1 - online test
a) Verbal - Gmat format but much more easier

b) Quantitative - as above

c) Absract reasoning - a little different from coventional gmat format but also easy.

d)Mechanical assembly - sets of machine pparts and gears will be given and u be asked hw the should look like when it is assebled or the direction a set gear should rotate under stated conditions etc

e) Logical Problem solving - this is more like a flow process with a problem and some conditions,u are to give the right sequence for solving it. this test is the most technical.

My cadid advice is that u go with an open mind for this part. do not break ur head too much over what to read cos it may just do u little good.

Part 2 - Written test (theory) based on Basic Mathematics and ur specific discipline. this is where u may really have to prepare. for civil engineering, read conc. design, bending moment shear force, understand B.M.D and S.F.D, foundation types and those 200level srenght of materials.
