Role Summary/Purpose:

  • Support the ITO (Proposal Phase) to OTR (Order Execution Phase) Handover Process (or RAC Process)


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support the ITO (Proposal Phase) to OTR (Order Execution Phase) Handover Process (or RAC Process)
  • Manage a team of proposals analysts to prepare proposals and quotations for the North America Region and in support of other global regions. Team will either be country-based or product based. This role involves responsibility to produce proposals across all product lines ranging from simple part numbered items to complex multi-system offerings.
  • Coordinate and distribute the proposal workload to your proposals team
  • Coordinate proposal efforts by working with the Applications Engineering team, contracts, finance, and product support personnel.
  • Establish key metrics to measure performance & effectiveness - use output to drive performance improvements.
  • Production forecasting and support the development of annual sales plans.
  • Work with sales to develop strategies and tactics to grow market penetration and margin expansion.
  • Works with sales and application engineering to develop technical and commercial plans to address prospect pipeline.
  • Work with global supply chain and manufacturing to ensure the lowest qualified sources are used to develop competitive quotations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with all relevant customer levels.
  • Provide commercial support to sales team and OTR project teams.
  • Coordinate the review and documentation of all customer contracts prior to acceptance and hand-off to OTR organization.
  • Maintain the status of deliverables and convey the bid status internally and to the customer as required.
  • Responsible for identifying and implementing efficiency improvements through coordinating internal system changes.
  • Foster the development of individual team member skill-sets, and prepare them for bigger, more unique challenges.
  • Work to all required Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Policies
  • Work to all required Compliance and International Trade Control regulations


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a customer service, proposals or sales position)
  • High proficiency in the English language

  • Ability to speak additional languages, one preferably being Spanish
  • High proficiency level in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Green / Black belt certified (GE employees only) or equivalent (non-GE employees).
  • Experience with GE systems & tools
  • Upstream oil & gas experience.
  • Knowledge of Vetco Gray Offshore equipment including Subsea Wellhead, Specialty Connectors and Pipe.
  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas products.
  • Mechanical and Applicable Industry codes knowledge.
  • Sales, manufacturing or installation experience.
  • Proven track record working in a Technical / Commercial environment specifying mechanical equipment.
  • Proven track record leading a team of similar size and scope
  • Proven track record of employee development
  • Team player and self-starter with demonstrated problem solving and organization networking capabilities and the ability to operate without detailed work direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects with minimal direction.
  • Ability to communicate with all internal levels of the business, and all levels of external customers & suppliers.
