@phoneline I intend to do just that after my interview.I am from Delta and mine is on the 13th.I don't know how many PhD candidates we got.Cheers.

The cut off for Delta should be 30. I'd advice your friend to go down there and complain. His name may have been skipped in error. I witnessed a particular M.Sc applicant complain abt that and he found out his name was actually on the list but dint get an invite.Quote:

Most PhD's found them selves trying to baby sit the interviewers who were initially assumed to be "all knowing". Most didn't even know that depending on the Universities the following routes exist towards a PhD:-
MPhil/PhD (Masters of Philosophy / Doctor of Philosophy) : Entirely a research program: For students with strong background in their intended area of research.
MRes/PhD (Maser of Research / Doctor of Philosophy) : Part taught and part research program: For students with weak background in their intended area of research.
MSc/PhD (Master of Sciences / Doctor of Philosophy); Part taught and part research program: For students with very weak background in their intended area of research.
It was such a pity that they did not know the differences between the different routes to PhD and instead of admitting so and learning from those who know, they will argue and say you are lying.
Its a pity that these sort of people get to take up leadership positions in Nigeria. No doubt they all experts in their various field , however they are ignorant of new evolving trends in academia in different parts of the world.
