2013 NDDC Foreign Scholarship is out

INTRODUCTION

As part of our Human Resource Development initiatives, NDDC is embarking on Foreign Post-Graduate Scholarship Scheme to equip Niger Deltans with relevant training and skills for effective participation in the local content programme of the current administration as well as compete globally in various professional fields. The Scheme is for suitably qualified applicants with relevant Bachelor's/Master's Degree from recognized Universities in the following professional disciplines:

•Engineering
•Medicine
•Computer Science/Technology
•Geology
•Geosciences
•Environmental Sciences
•Graduate Pilot Training
•Agriculture
Applicants must have gained Post Graduate admission into a recognized University abroad.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

•First Degree with minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division for those wishing to undertake a master’s Degree programme and a good Master’s Degree for PhD candidates from a recognized University.
•Gained Admission into a Post Graduate Programme in any of the listed disciplines in a foreign University.
•Bond of good conduct from any of the following persons from the applicant’s community/clan.
•a. Member of National Assembly
•b. Chairman of the LGA.
•c. First class traditional ruler.
•d. High Court Judge
•Persons with evidence of cult membership or criminal record shall not be considered for the award.

MODE OF APPLICATION

Application must be made On-line at the Commission’s website: www.nddc.gov.ng/scholarship/index2.html with the following attachments:
•Recent passport photograph
•Local Government identification letter.
•Post Graduate (PG) admission letter from Overseas University.
•Relevant Degrees from recognized University.


1.Successfully completed application form will be assigned a registration number automatically.
2.Print the hard copy of the on-line generated acknowledgement for ease of reference.
3.All shortlisted applicants will be posted on NDDC website. www.nddc.gov.ng
5.Applicants who might have admission challenges should contact:

Yes you can, once your documents are ready. All completed applications must be submitted on or before 31st December, 2012

Please I need inputs from those who applied for the just concluded NDDC scholarship exercise or any persons with useful input. I have a degree in one of the listed fields - Agriculture ( I studied agric-economics), but I want to obtain a degree in economics. do u suppose I cud apply? or will they need me to be furthering in the same field??

I studied Agric Economics but I want to go for IT-related course in MSc cos presently I am in the IT field. I applied for the 2012 NDDC Scholarship, the lady commented that "I should have gone for Agriculture since the competition is not much". I saw her point but since officially am into IT, I will still go for IT-related course again this year. But as for you, it depends on what you want, and if you are working presently.... You can still advance in agric economics and make a good career out of it, or in Economics

This is really a great initiative but the fact is there is so much nepotism in the selection processes. Anyways, does anyone know a foreign school where a geology graduate can apply to and get admission letter before 31st of december? Kindly help with any info as regard this. I just want to give it a try though, don't know any honourable, LGA chairman, Judge or whatever but I have and know God.

Once you have all your documents ready, you will be given an offer by December 31. Most schools esp in UK respond within 2weeks of application.

@seuntoyo it is very possible, get all ur docs ready And start ur application on time or use one of the Uk free Approved agencies To get ur stuff sorted out. if ur bsc was in Geology,Why not go for petroleum geoscience makes lot of sense,its one of The best courses In the industry.

NDDC!!! the most corrupt commission in Nigeria. last year successful candidates list is not still on their website and they are telling us that the shortlisted candidates for the test will be shortlisted in their website. why cant they shortlist 200 names but they can shortlist 3000 names? Fraudulent people. After all they took me tru this year they ended up giving the scholarship to their own people now they want to start the fraudulent act again. I made a mistake last year to have applied cos from the bond of good conduct required it is obvious that that one need to be connected for the scholarship. for all who want to apply goodluck there is no harm in trying, but they stabbed us in our chest last year.

sorry, but from the way u sound it seems it was really serious. Just try and apply again coz u cn never know.

My dear, I experienced same too, but I will advise you not to relent....I know of someone that got his on merit in 2011, God works in miraculous ways you know, keep pushing you don't know where your favor will surface. Remember, just apply and leave the rest for God

I applied but i didnt get a successful submission nor a registration number, on re-trying i was told sorry just 1 submission per user.Please does any1 dat has applied have this challenge too?

Please is the letter from the Guarantor, different from that from theletter of bond of good conduct from ones community ?

@luvlyruty dsame tin hapnd 2 me. I applied after clickn submit it displayed sntax error & didn't show successful nor giv me acknowledgement number. On retrying it showed 'one submission per user. Although I printed out d review pages.
Can anyone pls offer help on what to do pls?

This is very interesting. At the risk of sounding like a pessimist, I have to ask: Just how were u able to identify his as an award based on merit?

I xperienced dsame problem, though I printed out the review pages. I don't knw if it submitted cos' it sntax error.
Is there anyone wt a solution pin d houz? Pls help.

after wastin my precious time last year, through the test, and interview process, and seeing the rubbish exhibited by nddc, I will be encouraging them by re-applying. Those who want to apply need not be discouraged by the 2012 nddc scholarship experience. But as for me, its not worth my time. Atleast I got 10k for my efforts. Afterall, Im just finishing my Msc. Even if say dem release list and my name no dey, I for no vex. But no list, no nothing and I heard people went. Nddc another name for corruption.

Actually, I don't really know much about it, but by the title I think they are same. Cos a guarantor is someone who can attest you have good conduct/behavior. I hope this is helpfully

Please what are the consideration factors for the intake? Is it only test and interview? how can we trust this criteria for successful candidate?

I still want to ask,what is the criteria of imagining successful to be shortlisted for the test because i know that many people will be qualifying if we go by those stipulated requirements.
Will they make do with all candidates?

Last year, they conducted one aptitude test and an interview. However, they normally conduct just one interview for selection, but the aptitude test was included last year bc of some reasons........

I don't really know the criteria for shortlisting candidates for test. However, I will advise you pray for your name to be shortlisted. I believe there is nothing God can not do.....

I just got an invite for NDDC Scholarship test. Did anyone got that too. Though it wasn't my name they wrote on the text message they sent

I got a text msg this morning for 2013 nddc scholarship aptitute test @ rsust port harcourt 27/03/2013. But the problem is that the name in the sms is not mine. What do i do?
