URGENT VACANCY FOR A PROCUREMENT OFFICER

Position: Procurement Officer (international cement manufacturing company) Lagos
Qualification: Graduate in Engineering or other relevant field

Grade: Entry Level

Additional qualification desirable MBA OR PGD in Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage

Experience Desirable: 2 - 4 years preferably in a cement-manufacturing company

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Plan, direct and coordinate activities of purchasing Clerks and suppliers in purchasing materials, services and products.
2) Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material requirements.
3) Coordinate with project department to identify exact requirement, quantities and delivery schedules.
4) Prepare daily / weekly/monthly reports as per management requirements.
5) Resolve vendor’s / contractors grievances and claims of suppliers.
6) Raise/review purchase orders, claims and contracts in conformation with company policies.
7) Ensure all suppliers/contractors are registered with the company.
Review, evaluate and recommend specifications for issuing awarding bids.
9) Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supply. Interview them in order to determine product availability, delivery and terms of purchase.
10) Prepare bid awards for requiring board approvals.
11) Represent company in negotiating contracts and formulating contracts policies with suppliers.
12) Liaison /communicate with agencies outside company such as customs, Government departments/parastatals/agencies.
13) Organize, plan, and prioritize material /services requirements.
14) Ensure supply of materials / services on time.
15) Any other assignment that may be given by the organization from time to time.
