Sales & Business Development Executive

A new technology startup located in Calabar, Cross River State is looking to recruit an experienced, passionate, dynamic and highly motivated sales and business development executive to work on developing and selling subscription products to academic institutions, government agencies/institutions, international donors and corporate organisations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience, selling products or services to high-end customers. He/she will be based in Calabar or willing to relocate to Calabar.

b. Demonstrated well developed communication skills, both written and oral
c. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a sales plan
d. Well developed IT skills, and in particular with the MS Office suits of products
· Written communication - Is able to communicate clearly and succinctly (both in writing and verbally) in a variety of communication settings and styles, and can get messages across that have the desired effect. Demonstrated results-driven, pro-active and committed approach to work
· Negotiating – Ability to negotiate with and influence business decision makers. Can negotiate skillfully in tough situations, can settle differences with minimum noise, can win concessions without damaging relationships, can be both direct and forceful as well as diplomatic, gains trust quickly of other parties to the negotiations, has a good sense of timing.
· Interpersonal Savvy - High level interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels and from different facets of life – builds appropriate rapport, builds constructive and effective relationships, uses diplomacy and tact.

Responsibilities:
· Compiling lists of prospective customers and sales leads. Follow up as necessary for closure
· Providing training to all sales team members on strategy and product offerings
· Making cold calls to potential customers
· Forecasting orders and sales of assigned territory and submit weekly and monthly reports
· Representing the company at relevant trade association meetings, conferences and exhibitions to promote product/solution and company
· Track market effectively and provide accurate current and forecasts data.
· Maintain up to date detailed knowledge of product/solution/services. Be able to present and discuss the business and technology benefits in terms which are relevant to customers.
· Maintain up to date market and competitor knowledge related to their product/solutions/services.
· Develop their understanding of the customers changing business and/or operational issues and challenges.
Qualifications and Requirements:

· Bachelor's Degree with minimum of 5 years of selling experience.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent organizational skills
· Presentation skills
· Team working skills
· Willing to travel extensively
· A valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate will be required.
