Role Description
Sugar Rush Entertainment (LAGOS AND ABUJA) is looking for a proactive and committed individual to devise, manage and deliver press campaigns for the array of music acts promoted by this promotion company. Artists range from new upcoming bands to established national and international performers.

The ideal candidate will have a real passion for music with strong knowledge of a variety of different music genres, experience in using various social media channels and the ability to research and learn about new technologies in this sector, the drive and enthusiasm to continue developing skills in all areas of PR, staying on top of the latest trends and opportunities, and the ability to write engaging press releases.

This role will report to the Head of Marketing and work closely with Marketing Managers to provide effective PR support through all available media including relevant print outlets - national, local and periodical, TV, Radio and online media via relevant websites.
Sugar RushEntertainment is one of the largest live entertainment company in the UK but now has a branch in Nigeria, consisting of five businesses: concert promotion and venue operations, sponsorship, ticketing solutions and artist management. Sugar Rush seeks to innovate and enhance the live entertainment experience for artists and fans: before, during and after ashow.


Responsibilities


  • To ensure that all Artists under Sugar Rush are promoted and receives the maximum available exposure across online, print, radio and TV media
  • To develop and manage effective relationships with members of online and offline media both nationally and regionally to ensure that all events get maximum coverage
  • To coordinate with venues to ensure press announcements are timely, accurate and in line with the agreed PR campaign
  • To distribute well written Nation event related press releases that are SEO friendly and to coordinate with management / agents/ promoters and labels in order to coincide other releases with tour announcements.
  • To implement and manage the PR strategy for music events as promoted by Sugar Rush
  • To report regularly to management about planned coverage and campaigns in order to tie-in with other marketing activities for the benefit of the events
  • To track and report coverage and impact on sales as part of the overall marketing campaign for events
  • To organise and implement artist promo schedules by producing a realistic and efficient schedule
  • To coordinate with any appointed PR agencies with regard to the press plans for relevant events in order to maintain a consistent approach across online and offline media outlets.
  • To oversee the smooth running of interviews agreed as part of any promotional schedule.
  • To coordinate relevant tour launches and press conferences for artists in conjunction with the artist management and labels where appropriate including overseas junkets for selected press.
  • To provide a consistent approach to PR across all events and to assist in working with new artists that are not yet established or mainstream
  • To work with the Head of Marketing to establish priority of work for events in order to maximise revenues from coordinated press and marketing campaigns
  • To actively participate in all relevant meetings including those with promoters to establish the priorities for the PR team activities
  • Update of media client biography database

Requirements

Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • Experience of live entertainment press and public relations
  • Extensive contacts within music press
  • Experience of managing media launches and conferences
  • In depth knowledge of the Nigeria entertainment media, industry and marketplace
  • Knowledge of labels / recording industry
  • Experience of managing media campaigns with regional and national reach across print, radio, TV and digital to deliver effective, high impact coverage
  • Knowledge of managing sponsorship partners’ media requirements
  • Must be an English Literate
