The Marketing & Business Development Manager is a full-time role to provide marketing and business development support to Visual ICT’s client-facing teams. The position involves supporting initiatives designed to help our businesses engage with clients, identify and target opportunities and write persuasive marketing collateral including proposals and capability material.

The successful candidate will work closely with our client-facing teams to drive proactive client engagement behaviors and develop marketing plans and programs to support the achievement of business objectives and enhance Visual ICT’s reputation with its core clients and the broader market. This includes supporting major business development activities such as client engagement, client teams, opportunity teams, proposal preparation, and the development of marketing and business development material.

Marketing Responsibilities:


· Marketing Collateral Development
· Manage specific business capability and experience information to support client engagement and proposal activities. This includes working closely with the business to prepare capability statements, project sheets, project lists and brochures. A key task will be to manage the capability matrices and project experience for consistency and quality.
Marketing Communication Project Management
· Managing a range of projects/activities that embrace all aspects of the marketing mix, including marketing communication, events, advertising, media, photography, promotional material, publications and other collateral.
· Writing and Editing – Manage the preparation of major proposal, documents, reports, publications and marketing materials. This includes working closely with the Marketing team to develop various marketing materials such as brochures, publications, presentations and online content.

Business Development Responsibilities

Business Planning
· Actively support and facilitate the development of strategic business plans. This includes driving best practice business development and marketing techniques into our business and undertaking market, client and competitor research.

Client Engagement Planning
· Drive best practice client engagement, business development and marketing behaviors, processes, tools within our business.
· This includes supporting individuals and groups on client engagement activities, particularly client management, proposals and presentations.
· Assist as an active member of the global client engagement and business development group to improve marketing and business development processes, skills and tools across the business.

Proposal Strategy and Development
· Improve proposal management capabilities and in conjunction with the business, prepare major proposals, expression of interests and capability statements.
· This includes intensive involvement in major proposals from kick-off to submittal and post-proposal debriefs.
· A key focus is on turning the strategic bid discussion into a well articulated, persuasive and focused executive summary.
· Support will range from significant and intensive support of major proposals through to less involvement in smaller proposals.

Background Requirements:

Essential


· Bachelor’s degree in marketing or other business-related university program
· 3-5 years experience in a marketing or business development function, ideally in a professional services or mobile money /banking environment
· Experience in managing the development of marketing and business development related programs and development of complex documents and marketing material such, proposals, presentations, brochures and capability documents
· Strong interpersonal, influencing, communication and facilitation skills
· High degree of proactivity and problem-solving skills
· Confident self starter who has the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a close, but geographically dispersed team
· Strong organization and time management skills;
· Able to work under pressure with strict deadlines
· Have the drive, enthusiasm and strong business skills to suggest opportunities for continuous improvement.
· Strong team player able to work with all levels of the organization.
· High level of proficiency in, MS Powerpoint, Word, Excel. Some working knowledge of MS Visio and other relevant computer software.
