CardinalStone is recruiting to fill the position of:
Job Description
Draft a wide variety of legal documents and agreements relating to the company’s operations and ensures identified risks are mitigated. Manage records of contracts & other legal documents deposited with legal department for safe keeping
Facilitate the availability of laws and regulations relevant to the company operations. Research and review laws and regulation regulating the company
Provide advice on corporate legal issues and business matters
Provide internal advisory services to the business units and departments within the company
Monitor the maintenance of the registers and other records required to be maintained by the company under the Companies Allied Matters Act (CAMA)
Attend meetings of the Company where necessary and provide all necessary secretarial support services in respect of the meetings with the applicable rules and regulations
Monitor the rendering of all statutory returns and giving notification to the Corporate Affairs Commission as required under CAMA
Provide all such other administrative and secretarial duties as directed by the Legal Counsel & Company Secretary

Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB,BL)
A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in law
General Competencies
Good understanding of general and specific company and commercial law
Excellent communication skills – able to succinctly express complex ideas (verbally and in writing)
Strong inter-personal skills and a team work orientated attitude
Proven ability to effectively juggle competing priorities
Candidate must be able to work under pressure with keen attention to detail
Ability to interact effectively with business and technical clients in a fast-paced environment
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability and willingness to work long hours and meet tight deadlines
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Excellent team working ability to ensure smooth operation in the Legal Unit as a whole
Constant awareness of sensitivity and confidentiality involved in the function

Good research skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
