Job Title: Legal Officer
Job Location: Nigeria
Responsibilities
The Legal Officer shall be responsible for monitoring and/or advising on all legal matters, commercial contracts, and agreements. The Legal Officer shall also ensure the company complies with all statutory and corporate governance practices and guidelines across multiple jurisdictions.The Business Process Analyst will support the Business Process Management Unit in the execution of business process improvement, overseeing of staff performance management systems and ensuring that employees’ key result areas are aligned with the corporate objectives.

Legal Services

• Draft a wide variety of legal agreements, such as sales agreements for all the Company’s products and services, inter-connect agreements, landing party agreements, inter carrier agreements, master services agreements, professional services agreements, joint venture and joint marketing agreements, collaboration agreement etc
• Provide advice on corporate legal issues and business matters.
• Provide internal advisory services to the business units and departments within the Company.
• Provide commercial legal support on IT transaction including equipment supply, lease of IP and transmission capacity, collocation, value added and other services
• Ensure the development of service level agreements for service support and delivery.
• Company Secretarial Services
• Monitor the maintenance of the registers and other records required to be maintained by the Company under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA).
• Attend meetings of the Company, providing all necessary secretarial support services in respect of the meetings with the applicable rules and regulations.
• Monitor the rendering of all statutory returns and giving notification to the Corporate Affairs Commission as required under CAMA.
• Provide all such other administrative and other secretarial duties as directed by the Legal Counsel & Company Secretary.
• Implement and oversee corporate documentation and data management

Qualifications and Requirements

• Good understanding of general and specific Company and commercial law;
• Experience in licensing, permitting and regulatory affairs;
• Experience in consumer-facing businesses, capacity sales business plus knowledge of telecom and/or support for sales clients preferred.
• Strong inter-personal skills and a teamwork-oriented attitude.
• Proven ability to effectively juggle competing priorities;
• Candidate must be able to work under pressure with keen attention to detail;
• Ability to interact effectively with business and technical clients in a fast-paced environment;
• Good written and oral communication skills

2. Job Title: Chief Technical Officer
Job Responsibilities
The CTO shall be responsible for directing all network planning engineering and operations for the company and ensuring that the network evolution, performance, services and products are designed, implemented, provisioned and managed to meet quality and business objectives.
Specifically, the CTO’s responsibilities shall include:

• Oversee all technology aspects of the company
• Work with Executive Management to grow the company through the effective deployment and operation of technological resources
• Using an active and practical approach, direct managers and individual contributors in Technical Sales, Network Planning, Implementation, Solutions Development, and Operations departments to attain the company’s strategic objectives
• Establish the company’s technology roadmap and lead all aspects of the roadmap implementation
• Work with other department heads, especially Sales and Marketing to plan and advise on technologies that enhance revenue and assess for incorporation into roadmap
• Manage supplier business relationships and/or partnerships across the operating countries to sustain and grow the company’s business
• Ensure overall network security, network resilience and disaster recovery planning
• Ensure successful maintenance and high availability and reliability of the network
• Be responsible for the growth and future network builds and evolution of network service, interconnect topology, optimisation and capacity planning
• Evaluate trends and outlook with respect to leading edge technology and make determinations on the probability of implementation
• Actively manage the department’s budget and ensure effective use of the company’s resources on technology investments to grow the business.

Qualification and Requirements

• Electrical or Electronics Engineering degree including a Masters’ degree
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Telecommunications Network Operations
• Minimum of 10 years’ strategic management experience
• Experience with the development and operations of backbone fiber optic cable networks, possibly including submarine
• Experience deploying backbone network solutions using SDH, IP, MPLS and DWDM Technologies
• Experienced manager with ability to recruit and grow middle level technical management
• Strong technical and network engineering and operations skills
• Proven experience of managing technology budgets against specific commercial objectives
• Ability to apply leadership and management skills as well as processes to ensure that business objectives are set, understood and met
• Ability to lead technology evolution of the company to address market opportunities
• Ability to present compelling business cases for capital investment
• Ability to deliver network features and enhancements on time and on budget
• Ability to effectively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff to achieve business objectives
