Job function:
Supervise the activities of assigned personnel and Contractor. Perform supervisory
functions at the level established for the position.
• Review critical control documentation produced by Contractor (e.g., for welding
consumables) and advise on “fitness for purpose”.
• Report trends for repair rates to Company’s welding engineers and ensure these are
maintained within acceptable levels.
• Participate in the qualification of NDE Contractors and respective procedures. Monitor the
NDE performance and production tests, in terms of quality and frequency, ensuring
conformity with specifications and codes.
• Ensure that accurate welding records are maintained by Contractor throughout the
contractual period.
• Conduct visits, surveillance activities and/or compliance audits at the Site Works as per
schedule or, as and when required.
• To report any Site deviations related to welding and NDE disciplines to Company’s
Welding Engineers.
• Monitor quality records issued by Contractor to verify that weld acceptance is performed
in accordance with reference documentation.
• Performs similar other or related duties as and when assigned by direct supervisor.
Verify that Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) used by Contractor have beenaccepted by Company welding engineers. Review Weld Maps, and if requested, to
monitor the qualification program for welding procedures (both at Site and Test Houses) to ensure compliance with Project reference documentation.
• Monitor the Site qualification program for Welders and Welding Operators. Verify the
adequacy of the certification program and related Proficiency Cards.
• Ensure that Welders (and Welding Operators) have valid qualifications for the work they are undertaking and that acceptable quality standards are maintained during welding operations.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 6-7 years experience as a Welding Inspector in the context of large international
  • projects with good level of technical understanding of all disciplines.
  • Familiar with Total Company Rules, General Specifications & typical O&G codes & standards

  • Basic Education: Graduate engineer (B. Sc) in the relevant technical / engineering field.
  • Additional welding qualifications to Russian Standards, Codes and Practices are required.
