Job Title: Specialist 1 – Supplier Management

Role Summary/Purpose:
Liase with department leader and global commodity managers to execute the indirect commodity strategy as the local owner to achieve deflation, cash flow, and controllership goals


Essential Responsibilities:


Manage supplier contracts, supply agreements, and e-auctions with preferred suppliers to ensure that market trends, supplier performance, and future business needs are aligned
Execute global commodity contracts for a moderate group of suppliers, with varying levels of complexity
Manage competitive negotiations to drive deflation with the global supply base, while meeting capacity and quality requirements
Evaluate and select new suppliers, develop existing suppliers, and overall supplier management
Define and drive use of preferred suppliers plus develop alternate sources to reduce single and sole sources
Interacts with site teams to understand business needs and develop supply chain strategies that optimize total requirements
Collaborate with supporting resources (engineering, quality, global supply chain, and regional teams) to achieve plan, ensure adequate cycle time to procure material and services, and escalate critical materials from supplier base to meet customer demands
Develop technical and market expertise in commodity area
Enforce business policies to meet business targets and customer needs, including improving procurement processes and optimizing Sourcing resources to enhance the customer experience with Sourcing
Closely monitor supplier performance to plan and work with the suppliers to manage any required recovery plans / actions
Hold regular reviews with suppliers
Conduct Capacity Audits; track any Red Flags that impede supplier performance and control revisions at Suppliers
Ensure any quality issues have the appropriate focus
Develop process to look upstream for pending requirements to ensure sourcing given adequate cycle to procure material
Support the company’s business strategy as defined through G&Os and business operating mechanisms.
Coordinate identification and standardization of process, equipment, training and skill requirements
Drive process and operational optimization at suppliers to meet fulfilment targets
Drive sourcing initiatives (fulfilment, cost productivity, lead times, capacity, digitization, quality)
Communicate at all levels of a matrix organization on implementation status
Perform all other business related tasks as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college university
Minimum of 2 years in Supply Chain and or operational roles
Knowledge of GE Oil & Gas, Power & Water products and services
Demonstrated ability to work with internal and external customers
Strong project management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Willingness and ability to travel regionally and globally
