    Description
    FINCA International, one of the world's leading microfinance institutions, provides financial services to more than 950,000 clients through 21 wholly-owned and operated subsidiaries in Africa, Eurasia, Latin America and the Greater Middle East. FINCA International opens a Microfinance Bank in Nigeria and currently looking for a Systems and Network Administrator to be based in Owerri, Nigeria.


    This role will involve responsibility to ensuring that the network backbone and shared resources including servers are configured and maintained in a manner that will provide smooth operation of the IT infrastructure which supports the MIS of the organization. These include design, documentation, implementation, maintenance and support of the network infrastructure to achieve the required efficiency and to minimize downtimes at all times as per SLAs. Assures system stability, security and maximum uptime. Monitors access to system resources, and tracks connectivity and security problems. Analyzes problems and implements solutions according to organization’s procedures. Performs circuit and network troubleshooting to diagnose system problems; analyzes system functionality; identifies, locates, and resolves complex network problems to ensure minimal disruption of critical applications. Monitors and reviews system log reports and network documentation. Resolves and repairs problems within scope of authority.
    Duties include the following but other duties may be assigned:


    In conjunction with FINCAServices Africa, designing and recommending appropriate Network Infrastructure and technologies for FINCA Nigeria,


    Installation and maintenance of network resources such as routers, switches, firewalls and system software applications, including remote site deployments as required.


    Installation, configuration and updating network server software upgrades, file sharing and domain security protocols.


    Configuration and managing servers


    Design and manage Active Directory


    Setup, manage and enforce group policies and network security policies on the LAN, WAN and Internet


    Installation and maintenance of corporate email systems.


    Ensuring availability of the network resources at all times


    Investigate problems with network components and hardware and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken


    Oversee and maintain content filtering solutions


    Install and maintain network cabling


    Install and maintain fiber where applicable


    Provide technical advice as required for system planning.


    Developing and maintaining network standards and keep all documentation related to the network infrastructure.


    Regular and timely reporting and escalation of all network related problems to all relevant parties.


    Working closely with outsourced vendors to implement and manage the network infrastructure


    Develop good working relationships with other members of the team and vendors


    Perform any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.




    Ideal profile:


    3+ years of experience within a technical support environment, including hardware, software and network support.


    Experience in the use of routers, switches, hubs and other network interfaces.


    Proven ability to resolve networking problems efficiently and effectively.


    Previous experience as a network administrator.


    Knowledge working with Linux and Windows Operating Systems


    Network Storage platforms awareness


    Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment


    Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment


    Proven ability to balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks


    Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills


    Fluency required in English, French will be an added advantage


    A degree in Electronics or in Computer Science


    An MCSE /CCNA/CCNP or Linux Certified is added advantage




    3+ years of experience within a technical support environment, including hardware, software and network support.


    Prior experience working in a telecom industry is an added advantage.

    FINCA is able to get a good return on investment in computerized banking systems.


    Minimum downtime on information systems.


    Users are able to utilize the information system to optimal levels.


    Timely and efficient implementation of information systems projects in the Region.

    2) Internal Control Manager, FINCA Nigeria

    Description
    FINCA International, one of the world's leading MFIs, provides financial services to more than 950,000 clients through 21 wholly-owned and operated subsidiaries in Africa, Eurasia, Latin America and the Greater Middle East.


    FINCA is looking for a highly qualified Internal Control Manager (ICM) who thrives in dynamic environments to be part of the establishment and management of FINCA’s microfinance bank start-up in Owerri, Nigeria. The ICM will assist subsidiary management to create and maintain an internal control environment that supports the subsidiary in pursuing its mission with a minimum of risk and a maximum of efficiency. The ICM will be responsible to create and maintain an internal control environment that discourages fraud and negligence, detects violations at an early stage, fosters efficient operations and efficient use of human and technical resources, and assists subsidiary management at all levels in controlling and guiding staff and operations, with the aim of performance improvement. The ICM will manage and monitor control activities and recommend corrective actions, through the management of two functional areas – Methodology and Compliance – along with other internal control activities.


    The ICM will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FINCA’s operations in Nigeria and will also report to the Africa Regional Internal Control Manager. The ICM’s position is separate from internal audit and not responsible for the audit function.




    Qualifications:


    University degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Economics, Management, or equivalent work experience;
    At least 5 years of experience of banking or microfinance operations in Internal Controls, Internal Audit, Compliance, or Risk Management functions. Of this, at least 1 year should have been spent as a manager/lead in the function.
    1-2 years of experience in a front-end operations function is an advantage;
    Proven experience in effective management, development and supervision of a team;
    Practical experience in identifying internal control gaps and creating solutions;
    Knowledge of internal control processes and management of operational risk in a financial institution;
    Knowledge of process analysis and mapping is an advantage;
    Excellent technical report writing skills;
    Strong computer literacy, particularly in MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint). Experience with Core Banking Systems and good understanding of IS issues and the role of IS in financial and business management is an advantage;
    Fluent in English; fluency in Igbo is an advantage.
