Job Description

International Golf & Resort Management was established to provide a comprehensive service to the international golf and resort industry, IGRM specialises in the management and operation of golf facilities and integrated resort and residential golf developments worldwide. We need a qualified candidate to be responsible for overseeing the accounting and corporate reporting requirements for the Club, while also providing organisational and administrative leadership for all financial operations.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the smooth and efficient running of the Finance Dept.
Ensure compliance with statutory authority and audit requirements.
Maintain integrity of Accounting system (software), ensuring it remains effective and operational at all times.
Ensure all taxation and legislative requirements are complied with at all times.
On a monthly basis conduct balance sheet reconciliation for review by Directors.
Where inconsistencies to reconciliation emerge take remedial action or refer to relevant personnel as appropriate.
Collect relevant data / information for use by insurance broker.
Ensure the effective management, monitoring and tracking of Directors properties and other
business entities, reporting financial status as needs basis.
Provide assistance and direction to the Harrow Park entities regarding financial matters.
Ensure the monthly reconciliation of all ledgers and sub-ledgers.
Analyze business performance / results, providing feedback to Senior Management.
Track and monitor revenue for accuracy, verifying it against sub ledger report on a monthly basis.
Ensure that revenue is allocated correctly, taking corrective action where inconsistencies arise.
Ensure monthly accruals are adjusted to meet demands of the business.
In conjunction with the General Manager negotiate competitive rates with insurers.
In conjunction with relevant personnel track, monitor and manage insurance claims.
On a monthly basis monitor and track debtors to ensure they are consistent with contract conditions.
In conjunction with Directors source and identify financial providers.
Ensure that debtors are monitored and collections are consistent with set company time frames.
In conjunction with IT Systems Administrator, coordinate and implement upgrades to MYOB, providing necessary information / training to direct reports
Co-ordinate and prepare annual budgets, including operating and capital expenditure budgets.
Ensure the accurate preparation / reporting of monthly financial results in strict accordance with Harrow Park deadlines.
Ensure job costing is completed and reported by end of month to Directors.
Where required, provide assistance / direction to managers with regards to the preparation of budgets.
In conjunction with the General Manager, ensure that business cash flow adequately supports company work activities and produces optimal results.
Ensure approved capital expenditure budgets are adhered to at all times.
Ensure any variations to budgets and forecasts are explained in management reports, including any future / potential exposures to the organization.
Collate all relevant information to produce end of year statutory accounts for the Harrow Park.
Ensure that end of year statutory accounts report is finalized by specified date and presented to Directors for review.
On a monthly basis ensure that hire purchase and leased activities are accounted for and reported to Directors.
Ensure all company assets are monitored and accurately accounted for.
Ensure company motor vehicles and property is effectively managed.
Monitor and track equipment register for consentience with barcode system.
Monitor and track plant register for consentience with plant list system.
On a monthly basis ensure the general ledger is reconciled to the assets register.
As required complete ABS returns within specified date for final review and approval by GM prior to forwarding to regulatory body.
On an annual basis reconcile gross wages, group tax, payroll tax, and superannuation & workers compensation against general ledger for review by Directors.
Ensure that monthly group and payroll tax is completed by the accounts department.
On on-going basis review company expenditure to ensure compliance with FBT regulations,reporting inconsistencies immediately to GM.
Ensure that annual FBT return is completed for approval by GM prior to lodgement with ATO.
Ensure that the company GST is compliant and the BAS return is accurately prepared by specified due date and reviewed by GM prior to lodgement with ATO.
Collect and collate all necessary documentation in readiness and preparation of company tax return.
As requested perform specified elements of company tax return for review by external accountants.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Fully qualified accountant.
Professional qualification in Accounting is a Must (ACCA).
SAGE software experience
Previous experience in a similar position, including experience of providing Financial Control across a group of companies.
Sound and up to date knowledge of Nigerian Accounting Practices and International Financial.
Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Experience of managing staff within the Accounts department.
Excellent Excel modelling skills.
The Financial Controller must be qualified, with at least five years senior Accounting experience incorporating analysis and problem solving principles within a medium to lager organization.
Civil Industry experience would be an advantage as is previous experience working in a family business environment.
A hand on position that requires working knowledge of accounting disciplines such as, financial accounting, compliance reporting and budget preparation as well as systems development and improvement is essential. Critical to the position is strong interpersonal skills, and effective communication both verbal and written. The ability to lead a small team to achieve department and business finance demands is fundamental as is understanding protocol when interacting with management together with maintaining a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality.
The ability to plan and prioritize workloads in order to meet deadlines is fundamental so too is effective time management of work flow in order to meet accounting deadlines.
The ability to work without Management direction, use initiative and possess a positive attitude towards teamwork is critical.
The capacity to train and coach other members of the department is an expected element of this post so too is the capacity to develop and format procedures.
Computer literacy is essential with particular reference to Microsoft Office.
Excel & Word with working knowledge of MYOB.
