A leading financial services firm requires a suitably qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Financial Controller in its office in Lagos.


Responsibilities

§ Responsible for overall Finance and Accounting activities of the company
§ Actively support the MD/CEO to ensure efficient operation and growth of the company
§ To develop and implement modern cost-effective accounting systems that will meet the challenges and objectives of the company
§ Develop key financial processes including budgeting, management & financial accounting/reporting
o Monthly management reporting packages and analysis
o Monthly, quarterly and annual budgeting and variation reporting to identify areas requiring attention and areas of possible improvement
§ To ensure adequate control systems and processes to secure the assets and efficient operation of the organization
§ To ensure that the financial policies /procedures of the company are implemented efficiently and in line with generally accepted accounting practices
§ To ensure the effective operation of the finance and accounts departments
§ Manage the bank and treasury processes of the company
o To ensure completeness, accuracy and correctness of all treasury records and reports
o Oversee the capital raising activities of the company
§ Maintain good relationships with all relevant statutory agencies and ensure compliances with regulations on the operations of the company
§ Ensure prompt and timely rendition of returns to relevant statutory agencies
§ Provide financial analysis and evaluation to support contracting processes of the company and negotiating with key third party suppliers
§ Manage the commercial activities of the company and supervision of junior accounting staff
Reqiurements
§ The successful applicant will be between 28 and 35 years old, hold a degree in accounting, business administration, economics or any other related field
§ Hold a professional accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, ACMA and have a minimum of 7 years relevant professional experience in accounting or audit related functions with an accounting firm or in the oil and gas industry
§ Must be a team player
§ Must have excellent knowledge of PC software ( Internet, outlook, Excel, word, etc)
§ Must have good organizational and communication skills with excellent command of English in word and writing.
§ Must with familiar with IFRS.
§ Must have strong analytical and financial skills. and must have good organizational skills with ability to prioritise and must have staff development and leadership skills.
