Topic: does this grantee you getting a job?

please i want to know if a company request for your passport and your birth certificate and they keep it what does it mean?
Does it grantee that you have being given the post you want and what other things cloud then request for after?( I did the interview and i was told to come before 7.am )
when i got there the only thing i ask me to do is to bring my passport and a photocopy of my birthday certificate. I was also told to go and inform my grantor e.t.c
