Job Title: Senior Internal Auditor



Location: Lagos and Ogun State

Preferred Field of Study: Social Sciences/Management Sciences, or other related field of study
Required Experience: 1 – 3 year(s) of operational, financial, and/or compliance audit experience, including developing risk assessments, audit surveys and audit programs



Job Description:

Planning, conducting and/or leading financial, operational and compliance audits and special projects for ASLS to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of controls, compliance with laws and regulations and efficiency/effectiveness of operations This would include: participating in or leading small audit teams, developing risk assessments and audit programs, reviewing/testing policies, procedures and controls to identify opportunities for improvement, making recommendations, drafting audit reports and performing follow-up on status of management actions taken on identified issues.


Core Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Preparation of the monthly Management Reporting Pack and Interim condensed financial statements and commentary
  • Coordinating the budget preparation processes
  • Preparation of the Quarterly Legal Reporting pack
  • Monthly preparation of the key Performance Indicators analysis
  • Monthly revenue analysis and key Performance Indicators analysis
  • Preparation of the weekly/mid and month end financial performance presentation and projections
  • Coordinate with Financial accounting team during the month end closing to ensure a reviewed trial balance is produced on time
  • Various Financial analysis as required
  • Quarterly profitability analysis by segments
  • Any other duties as might be assigned to you
  • Completing and reviewing work papers and interfacing with external auditors.
  • Performing/supervising test of compliance in various areas including: Financial Reporting, Revenue, Receivables, Inventory, Purchasing, Payables, Fixed Assets, Payroll and Human Resources at all levels
  • Participating in other projects and activities as assigned such as: Annual Enterprise Risk Assessment; using and assisting in preparing Audit Committee presentations; and Special Projects.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the basic knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

· Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills that will enable effective interaction with peers, audit department management, all levels of employees, management and departments in order to develop and maintain productive client and staff relationships

· Excellent analytical skills and comfortable in working with complex data, processes and systems to review and evaluate controls

· Understanding of internal auditing standards and risk assessment practices, IT and audit principles and awareness standard for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing

· Proven leadership skills including: overseeing the daily work of other auditors; selling ideas and obtaining management buy-in for constructive change; ability to teach and coach staff

· Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and ability to work independently, with limited direction and guidance

· Proficient in business applications - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ACL. Oracle experience is a plus

· Must possess high ethical values.
