    Good day,

    go to http://graduate.standardbank.com/gra...ica/index.html

Standard Bank would like to invite you to apply to one of the graduate programs, available on www.standardbank.com/graduates

If you know of any graduates who may be interested in applying for this program, please refer them to the website.

We’re one of the largest banking groups in Africa, with a presence in 17 different countries across the continent. With strong Corporate and Investment Banking, Personal and Business Banking and Wealth businesses across Africa, we aim to continue our growth by adding value for African customers. This means developing innovative solutions that not only satisfy customers’ individual needs, but also increase economic inclusion for people in all sectors of society. Because, as we build a strong, profitable business, we believe we should use our expertise to improve the communities we operate in.

We maintain our position of strength in Africa by drawing on our connections with key banking partners in other emerging markets and reaping the benefits of their expertise. Standard Bank’s relationships with banks like Troika Dialog in Russia and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) mean that we have a unique opportunity to benefit from trade between Africa and BRIC countries. The systems we use are best in class, but built to a scale that make them practical in the African environment. And, of course, as part of a major global bank, we also offer career opportunities with an international reach.

Our Africa businesses are extremely diverse, offering a variety of innovative products and services to customers from a range of cultural backgrounds. On this graduate programme you’ll start to develop the valuable skills and experience that you’ll need to become one of our future leaders in Africa and you’ll enjoy experiences as diverse and varied as our businesses. By the end of the programme, you will be ready to create and implement strategies, improve performance and initiate the big ideas that ensure we remain a major force in African banking.

Joining as a management trainee you’ll experience a series of rotations in a number of African businesses and support teams. And through a combination of classroom training and practical experience, you’ll be able to develop the important knowledge and skills that will enable you to add value to our business. You’ll also start to contribute to different projects, which will help you to decide which area of the business will suit your skills and ambitions best.

At the end of the programme, you’ll join a business area that best matches your talents, based on your career ambitions and your performance over the course of the programme.
    What you’ll need

You should have at least a degree, ideally in a subject relevant to your career ambition. Subjects such as business management, business science, finance, economics, accounting, commerce, engineering, agriculture, IT (informatics), or any other commercial subject are an advantage. With an entrepreneurial spirit and the potential to become an effective leader, you’ll need an analytical approach and the ability to think logically around sometimes complex problems and develop successful solutions. Most of all, you’ll be an independent thinker with an innovative outlook and lots of creative ideas, together with a passion for developing groundbreaking products to meet customers’ needs.

    Eligibility

This programme is based in the respective countries participating in the programme and will be supported by the South African and UK programmes. It is only open to non-South African nationals, of African origin.
