ACCOUNTING ROLEA role has opened for an Accounting officer to start immediately in a Fashion Promotion Company for a Project in Abuja. BackgroundThe officer will report to the Creative Director performing regular accounting and finance functions of the Project/Company. He/She will take responsibility of all financial issues, account administration and bookkeeping issues as well as the performing thereof.Purpose of the Job To ensure completeness and accuracy of the Project/Company’s financial organization and recordsDuties and Responsibilities - Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain records, tax liability and other financial activities within the Company.- Ensure that Project/Company accounts are maintained in an effective and efficient manner in the Companies’ accounting systems. - Prepare, examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other financial records to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting, and required standards.- Maintain receipt and payment cashbook.- Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts; prepare monthly accounts & financial statements.- Be responsible for all staff claim and retirement.- Analyse and reconcile expenditure accounts.- Review and report financial transactions to the management.- Monitor the business activities of the Company through the maintenance and control of financial records.- Prepare cash flow.- Submit all necessary reports to the Creative Director/Chief Executive Officer on a weekly and monthly basis. - Any other related duty as required by the Company.- Maintain full confidentiality in all aspects of assignments, maintenance of protocol procedures and management of information flow;- Support implementation of all missions and events; and - Any other function that may be required by virtue of his/her unique knowledge, skill, experience and access to resources.CompetenciesThe successful candidate will be an exceptional individual with a 'can do' attitude, who is pro-active, resourceful, self motivated, able to apply own initiative and comfortable working in a small team. A University degree would be an advantage. Experience:- At least 2 years experience of progressively responsible accounting experience is required.
