1, POSITION: Head, Corporate Communications.



DEPARTMENT: Brands and Communication.



Reports to: Director, Brands and Communication.



WORK BASE: Lagos.



CORE PURPOSE: Provide oversight on all activities aimed at promoting EMTS’s corporate image and manage the organization’s interface with the media, other corporate entities and the public/society at large. Ensure that internal and external communication activities are in line with EMTS’s corporate communications policies and procedures as well as national/international media standards.



Principal Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities)



Tactical



• Keep abreast of global and local best practice as it relates to the Corporate Communications unit’s activities.

• Continuously review the Corporate Communications unit’s activities, make recommendations for improvement and implement approved initiatives to ensure enhanced performance of the team.

• Identify required resources, personnel and funding to achieve the unit’s strategy.

• Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including media agencies.



Operational



• Assist in the development and implementation of effective media/public relations and crisis management policies and processes.

• Liaise with media consultants and public relations agencies and ensure accuracy and consistency in all EMTS’s external communications.

• Manage the overall media relations program for EMTS and serve as a first line interface between EMTS and key stakeholders in local and international print and electronic media.

• Aggressively pursue positive media coverage for EMTS and develop effective strategies to manage/mitigate negative coverage.

• Supervise the planning, organizing and convening of corporate and social events (e.g. press conferences, media briefings etc.) for EMTS.

• Monitor quality assurance measures and standards and ensure compliance with EMTS’s policies, procedures and guidelines.

• Oversee the implementation of approved Corporate Social Responsibility and community development strategy and initiatives.

• Provide input in the development of effective media/public relations and crisis management policies and procedures.

• Implement the work programs and plans of the Corporate Communications unit in line with agreed upon procedures and guidelines.

• Plan and manage the human and material resources of the unit to optimize performance, morale and enhance productivity.

• Manage inter-functional relations to ensure synergy across the various divisions within the Brands and Communication department and with other departments.

• Provide leadership and guidance to team members and manage subordinates’ performance towards the achievement of overall team objectives.

• Monitor and control the budgetary needs of the Corporate Communications unit.

• Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Director, Brands and Communication.

• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director, Brands and Communication.



Educational Requirements:

• First degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

• Postgraduate/ professional qualification in a related field will be an added advantage.

• Ten (10) to twelve (12) years work experience, with at least Five (5) years in a managerial role.

2, POSITION: Manager, Media Management and Monitoring., Media Management and Monitoring



DEPARTMENT: Brands and Communication.



Reports to: Head, Marketing Communication.



WORK BASE: Lagos



CORE PURPOSE: Ensure the efficient operations of EMTS’s media management system including the evaluation, selection, engagement and monitoring of media agencies.



Principal Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities)

Tactical

· Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.



Operational

· Assist in the development of relevant media strategies, proposals and plans.

· Ensure efficient execution of EMTS’s media plan and ascertain that the desired media messages reach the target audiences.

· Provide input into negotiations/contracts with vendors/media agencies as required and monitor their activities to ensure adherence to service level agreements.

· Monitor media campaign effectiveness via post campaign research to measure achievement of defined targets and compliance to approved corporate guidelines.

· Explore new media opportunities and possibilities for utilization of unconventional media.

· Develop effective strategies to manage cases of negative media coverage.

· Develop and maintain relationships with key journalists, publications and programmes to support media and public relations activities within EMTS.

· Implement the unit’s work programs and plans in line with agreed upon procedures and guidelines.

· Assist in planning and managing the human and material resources of the unit to optimise performance, morale and enhance productivity.

· Provide leadership and guidance to team members and manage subordinates’ performance towards the achievement of overall team objectives.

Educational Requirements:

· First degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

· Seven (7) to nine (9) years work experience, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory role.

3, POSITION: Specialist, Public Relations., Media Management and Monitoring



DEPARTMENT: Brands and Communication.



Reports to: Manager, Public Relations.



WORK BASE: Lagos.



CORE PURPOSE: Assist in coordinating initiatives and events that provide an avenue for projecting EMTS’s corporate image/brand values to the public.



Principal Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities)



Operational

· Assist in ensuring the timely implementation of approved public relations plans and programs.

· Liaise with approved public relations agency and ensure compliance with agreed service levels.

· Develop and maintain relationships with key media agencies and assist in ensuring adequate media coverage for EMTS’s corporate events/sponsorship activities in liaison with the Events & Sponsorship function and other relevant departments.

· Develop preliminary drafts of public relations briefs and presentation templates.

· Provide adequate support to the Manager, Public Relations in the preparation of draft articles, conference papers, speeches, press briefings and other related external communications.

· Monitor and analyze the extent of public understanding and acceptance of EMTS’s products and services and suggest awareness initiatives to the Manager, Public Relations.

· Maintain an up-to-date record of all external communications.

· Assist in gathering information on competitor activity in relation to media/public relations.

· Liaise with relevant unit/team/function in carrying out all relevant public relations activities.

· Attend team/divisional/departmental meetings as required.

· Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Manager, Public Relations.

· Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Public Relations.

· Conduct research and develop first drafts of mitigating strategies for negative media coverage and present findings to the Manager, Media Management and Monitoring.

· Update and maintain accurate records (soft and hard copies) of all media publications related to EMTS.

· Assist in exploring new media opportunities/possibilities of utilization of unconventional media.

· Liaise with the finance function in facilitating prompt payment of all third-party media service providers.

· Liaise with relevant unit/ team/function in carrying out all relevant media management activities.

· Attend team/divisional/departmental meetings as required.

· Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Manager, Media Management and Monitoring.

CORE PURPOSE: Assist in the implementation of EMTS’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities/efforts within defined sphere of influence (e.g. education, sports, health etc).



Principal Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities)



Operational

· Assist in developing community intervention/CSR plans and programmes for assigned areas.

· Assist in identifying opportunities for EMTS to participate in community intervention projects and proffer recommendations to the Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility.

· Interface regularly with agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and other relevant institutions in the execution of EMTS’s CSR initiatives.

· Liaise with relevant unit/ team/function in carrying out all relevant CSR activities.

· Attend team/divisional/departmental meetings as required.

· Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility.

Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility.

WORK BASE: Lagos



Principal Functions (Major Areas of Responsibility): Provide adequate support in achieving efficient operations of a media monitoring /management system for EMTS. Assist in exploring new media opportunities/possibilities of utilization of unconventional media.



Operational

· Assist in execution of EMTS’s media plans while ensuring compliance with defined media objectives and strategy.

· Track EMTS’s media activity schedule/plans and ensure compliance with defined media objectives and strategy

· Monitor media channels and publications for relevant information and escalate to the Manager, Media Management and Monitoring as required.

· Assist in monitoring media campaign effectiveness to determine achievement of defined targets and set objectives.

· Assist in monitoring tactical and ad-hoc media placements for all EMTS’s mass awareness campaigns.

· Escalate all negative publicity on EMTS identified in any media channel to the Manager, Media Management and Monitoring

· Conduct research and develop first drafts of mitigating strategies for negative media coverage and present findings to the Manager, Media Management and Monitoring.

· Update and maintain accurate records (soft and hard copies) of all media publications related to EMTS.

· Liaise with third-party media monitoring agencies and communicate EMTS’s defined media objectives and plans as required.

· Liaise with finance to track the invoicing and payment processes so as to ensure hitch-free campaigns and prompt payments to media monitoring agencies.

· Liaise with relevant unit/ team/function in carrying out all relevant activities.

· Attend team/divisional/departmental meetings as required.

· Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Manager, Media Management and Monitoring.

· Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Media Management and Monitoring.

7, POSITION: Analyst Channel Branding. Media Management and Monitoring



DEPARTMENT: Brands and Communication.



Reports to: Manager, Outdoor Channel Branding.



WORK BASE: Lagos.



Principal Functions: Assist in executing sales promotions, campaigns and other outdoor brand projection programs.



Operational

· Conduct relevant research on channel branding trends and proffer recommendations to the Manager, Outdoor Channel Branding as required.

· Assist in identifying opportunities to promote EMTS’s products and services to consumers through outdoor coverage.

· Liaise with relevant functions (e.g. Procurement, Sales) to oversee logistics for all planned outdoor channel activities.

· Liaise with the Merchandising and Communications function to ensure adequate provision of branded items at relevant points of sale.

· Liaise with relevant units/teams/functions in carrying out all other relevant activities.

· Attend team/divisional/departmental meetings as required.

· Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Manager, Outdoor Channel Branding.

8, POSITION: Analyst Internal Communications. Media Management and Monitoring



DEPARTMENT: Brands and Communication



Reports to: Manager, CSR Internal Communications.



WORK BASE: Lagos





Principal Functions: Assist in the preparation and dissemination of all internal communications in line with EMTS’s communications policies and procedures



Operational

§ Participate in the preparation of the annual communication plan and ensure its timely implementation.

§ Assist in ensuring the adequate and timely dissemination of approved communications to employees of EMTS.

§ Provide adequate support to the Manager, Internal Communications in the conceptualization, development and production of each edition of EMTS’s internal newsletter/ relevant publications.

§ Provide input into the production of all EMTS publications by liaising with graphic developers/ vendors.

§ Perform first edit/proof-reading of all articles to ensure grammatical cohesion and compliance to EMTS’s internal communication policies.

§ Assist in developing first drafts of all communications and liaise with vendors to ensure timely preparation of approved communication media e.g. printing of newsletters.

§ Develop and maintain an up-to-date record of all internal communications.

§ Collate feedback from internal communications or misunderstandings arising from internal communications and forward report to the Manager, Internal Communications.

· Liaise with relevant unit/function in carrying out all internal communication activities.

· Attend team/divisional/departmental meetings as required.

· Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Manager, Internal Communications.

· Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Internal Communications.

Principal Functions: Assist in executing all sponsorship activities aimed at enhancing and promoting the EMTS brand.



Operational

· Assist in identification of appropriate sponsorship targets and proffer recommendations to the Manager, Sponsorship.

· Ensure that all sponsorship requests are logged and communicated to Manager, Sponsorship on a timely basis.

· Liaise with relevant agencies to ensure effective execution of all sponsorship activities geared towards enhancing EMTS’ brand image and visibility.

· Liaise with the corporate portal function to ensure adequate capture of all EMTS sponsorship initiatives both on the company website and corporate portal.

· Liaise with relevant unit/ function in carrying out all relevant activities.

· Attend team/divisional/departmental meetings as required.

· Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Manager, Sponsorship.

· Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Sponsorship.

10, POSITION: Analyst Visual & Online Advertising, Media Management and Monitoring



DEPARTMENT: Brands and Communication



Reports to: Manager, Visual & Online Advertising,



WORK BASE: Lagos



Principal Functions: Assist in the implementation of strategy for effective visual and online advertisements for all EMTS’s product and service offerings.



Operational

· Assist in developing scripts for all EMTS’s visual communication channels (e.g. TV spots, newspaper/magazine adverts, brochures, fliers, internet articles, etc).

· Monitor adherence to EMTS’s corporate identity in the layout and design of campaign communication texts.

· Monitor execution of visual advertising concepts, ensure compliance with agreed standards and propose recommendations to improve on identified lapses.

· Liaise with relevant visual advertising channels to ensure adequate projection of the EMTS brand.

· Manage relationship with relevant advert agencies and media houses.

· Assist in the process contract negotiation with advert agencies and other ancillary vendors.

· Implement work programs and plans of the unit in line with agreed upon procedures and guidelines.

· Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Senior Manager, Marketing Communication.

· Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Visual & online advertising.



Educational Requirements:
