Job Description:

* Ensure that the plans received from relevant Responsible for radio network planning and optimisation of the networks in the region,
* Manage the design of the radio network in the region to ensure that sufficient capacity is provided for to support marketing’s subscriber forecast and adequate headroom in line with NWG’s 366 strategy
* Manage and ensure that proactive drive testing and fault diagnostics of network in the region is performed regularly
* Escalate any issues that may delay the rollout of BTss in the region to the SM, RF P&O
* Monitor network performance both on the air interface and A-BIS
* Report regional RF activities to the Senior Manager, RF P&O
* Drive and ensure the timely provision of transmission, site acquisition and other dependencies for the activation of BTSs in the region
* Maintain accurate and thorough knowledge of the network in the region at all times
* Ensure that adequate knowledge of competitor’s activities and competitive environment in the region is maintained and feedback to the SM, RF P&O
* Manage the provision of specialist technical support to all other departments in the region regarding the network and radio related problems
* To optimize the use of resources within the region

Job Conditions: General MTN N working conditions. A valid drivers license. Additional working time is usually required on a need basis
Reporting To: Senior Manager, RF Planning & Optimisation
Required Skills:

Minimum 8 years work experience including

* At least four (4) years experience in RF Planning and Optimization function in a telecommunications environment
* At least one (1) year in a team leadership role within the same sector
* Experience working on a multi-vendor network
* Experience with Ericsson and Huawei equipment will be desirable
* New technologies training / seminar
* Training on vendor equipment and software
* Exchange training with other MTN networks
