DUTIES:
> Change dressings.
> Perform a variety of duties as requested by client, such as obtaining household supplies and running errands.
> Accompany clients to doctors' offices and on other trips outside the home, providing transportation, assistance and companionship.
> Administer prescribed oral medications under written direction of physician
> Massage patients and apply preparations and treatments, such as liniment, alcohol rubs, and heat-lamp stimulation.
> Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, and problems in order to report and discuss observations with a supervisor or case manager.
> Provide patients with help moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs or automobiles, and with dressing and grooming.
> Monitors patient condition by observing physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise.
> Supports patients by providing housekeeping and laundry services; shopping for food and other household requirements; preparing and serving meals and snacks; running errands.
> Assists patients by providing personal services, such as, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
> Helps patients care for themselves by teaching use of cane or walker, special utensils to eat, special techniques and equipment for personal hygiene.
> Helps family members care for the patient by teaching appropriate ways to lift, turn, and re-position the patient; advising on nutrition, cleanliness, and housekeeping.
> Records patient information by making entries in the patient journal; notifying nursing supervisor of changing or unusual conditions.
> Maintaining security precautions; following prescribed dietary requirements and nutrition standards;
> Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS
> No formal education requirement for home health aides,
> Certified health care training required
> PREVIOUS WORKING EXPERIENCE A PLUS
