Wowza!!! Thank you for your sagely advice.
Thanks van4life for this timely info
Van Thanks for your detailed explanation. It seesm you have lots of insider info. It is just that it befuddles me why a world class organization will let a recruitment drag on for so long. The least total can do is provide feedback to the expectant candidates. Even if it is a simple sentence like " Please note that the recruitment is still ongoing". In my case I was told to expect a feedback in two weeks and now it is over two years with no single feedback. World class organizations surly do better than this. Feedback is very important.
@ latempt. This doesn't make Total less of a world class. Events and conditions change and these coys have to adjust. There's a case of an IOC who conducted a recruitment last year and all of a sudden it just went offline, the coy actually cancelled or to use a better word 'suspended' the recruitment. I don't think any communication was done.
This case in not just limited to Total. As the lack of correspondence from total in the last two years, it must have been an oversight because most people i know have been contacted at least twice. This in no way implies that it's a good practice by it self.
For me i blame HR, in 2011 they called guys in UK & US, they did same in 2012 too. You have backlog of guys too from IPS Uniport and IFP France waiting from 2011-2013 set. So you see, there are a lot of guys who are waiting. Is there space for them in Total? Maybe yes but very limited.
Generally in most big coys, HR's in the guise of identifying young talented engineers arrange for recruitment outside the country. They enjoy the free travel and allowances but truth be told, the coy might not even have the need for new recruits. Most of these CIA recruitments fall into this category. Previously when these companies really had vacancies it worked well but now it's different. I'm sure you've not heard any IOC in Nigeria conducting such recruitment in the last two years. By the way, who would approve such trips in this era of severe cost management.
Anyway, thats enough for this. Wish you guys all the best!
Thanks Van. Appreciate your detailed explanations. I wish everybody the best also. Warm regards.
Abdulmajeed.
Operators have started their training this month. Ofon ph2 starts in Q3 2015 and Egina Q4 2017.

The recruitment will be concluded before the the the development phase starts. Development is normally done 2 years for Oil production and 3 years for Gas (World standard practice) so am still hopeful something would happen before this year runs out.
All those who did their medicals and interviews in PH (Ofon Ph 2) will definitely join them this year .

Good news is on the way. The recruitment will resume shortly.
I am still hoping that resumption is this year.
Is that a hunch?
it's been a while. hailings to the house.
all the way from Bonny island
(off topic)
The best is yet to come
I got an email from Total today requesting for my current CV and contact ASAP. It was exactly the same thing they sent me sometime ago in March so I don't know what they are up to this time.
That is because Total has awarded the drilling contract for EGINA.

@ 2goo, you were contacted because HR is currently reviewing the profiles of candidates to fill up some roles which are open now. Yea, they asked for that earlier but would need to confirm your information is still current (especially your location). Wish you the best with your recruitment with Total.
@Coolguy, this has nothing to do with the announcement of West Jupiter for Drilling operations. As a matter of fact drilling has been going on at Egina with Pacific Scirocco which would still be there till 1st oil is achieved. West Jupiter is just an addition and only implies increased drilling activities to meet up with the project's schedule. The guys who where on West Capella (Usan field) now operated by Exxon Mobil are waiting to receive west Jupiter.
Cheers guys!
