Senior Software Engineer (Python/Web Services)

Job Type:
•The role is a permanent role
Role
•Specify, design and implement server software components of the Content Distribution Network and associated tools

Location
•This role will be based in the Lagos office.
Technical Experience required
•Strong Python programming abilities
•Working knowledge of Linux
•Network systems development and internet core protocols
•Data structure and algorithm design and implementation
•Web services and/or web application design and implementation

Technical Experience highly desirable
Extra credit will be given to candidates who have some or all of the following:
•Experience with developing SNMP or other network management infrastructures
•Experience of C++, C or Perl
•Experience with RDBMS and nosql data stores
•Experience of source control (perforce, subversion, cvs)
•Experience of clean user interface design
•Acting as a technical lead and/or mentoring junior software developers
Necessary Experience and Skills
•Demonstrable, recent experience in similar roles
•An excellent understanding of the complete software development life cycle
•Experience of taking responsibility for the design and implementation of major product components or features
•Candidates should come from a software or hardware product development background rather than just a project background
•Possesses excellent technical skills as well as excellent problem solving skills.
