NPC ANNOUNCES VACANCIES.

The Nigerian Press Council has announced some vacant positions in the Council. This is contained in its Internal/External Advertisement signed by the Executive Secretary in which applications are invited from qualified candidates to fill the vacant positions.

The vacancies are as listed below:

VACANCIES
(INTERNAL/EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT)
Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the under listed positions in the Council:
1. JOB TITLE: PRINCIPAL RESEARCH OFFICER (GL. 12)
A. Academic and professional Qualification.
Applicants must possess a degree in Arts, Mass Communication/ Journalism, Social Sciences or English Language from a recognized institution.
Possession of Post graduate qualification in Social Sciences, Mass Communication/ Journalism with bias for Social Research will be an added advantage.
Evidence of NYSC discharge certificate.
Must be computer literate.

B. Experience:
A minimum of EIGHT (8) years post qualification and experience in sub-editing in a reputable newspaper is required.

2. JOB TITLE: SENIOR LIBRARIAN – (GL. 10)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification.
Applicants must possess first degree or its equivalent from a recognized University in Library and Information Science and a post graduate /professional qualification e.g. MLS (Library Science).
Registration with the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria will be an added advantage.
Membership of a recognized Institute of Librarians.
Must be computer literate.

B. Experience:
A minimum of SIX (6) years post professional qualification experience is required.


3. JOB TITLE: RESEARCH OFFICER II (GL. 08)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification.
Must possess a degree in Mass Communication/Journalism, Social Sciences or English Language from a recognized University.
Evidence of NYSC discharge certificate.
Must be Computer Literate.
B. Experience:
Any experience in the public or private sector will be required while experience in Social Research will be an added advantage.


4. JOB TITLE: LIBRARIAN II (GL.08)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification:
Must possess first degree in Library Science from a recognized Institution.
Registration with the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria is mandatory.
Associate-ship or Fellowship of a recognized Institute of Librarians.
Evidence of NYSC discharge certificate.
Must be Computer Literate.

B. Experience:
A minimum of One (1) year post professional qualification will be required or internship in a recognized Library.


5. JOB TITLE: ICT OFFICER (GL. 09)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification.
Applicants must possess Higher National Diploma in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronics Engineering and any other relevant field.
A good degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, and Electrical Electronics Engineering from a recognized institution is also required.
Possession of any professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
Evidence of NYSC discharge certificate.
Must be computer literate.

B. Experience:
A minimum of THREE (3) years post qualification experience in related area will be required.


6. JOB TITLE: CHIEF ACCOUNTANT – (GL.14)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification.
A good degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution in Accountancy plus a professional qualification in Accountancy from any of the following Accounting Bodies.

i. Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigerian (ICAN)
ii. Association of National Accountants of Nigeria.(ANAN)
iii. Association of Certified and Corporate Accountants (ACCA)
iv. Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPA)
v. Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA)
Evidence of NYSC discharge certificate.
Must be computer literate.

B. Experience:
Minimum of TEN (10) years Post qualification cognate experience in Public and / or Private Sector will be required.
Candidate must have worked in a Financial Management Position.


7. JOB TITLE: PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTANT (GL.12)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification
A good first degree or its equivalent in Accountancy from any recognized institution.
Professional Qualification in Accounting from any of the following bodies with 4 years experience is also acceptable.
i. Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigerian (ICAN)
ii. Association of Certified and Corporate Accountants (ACCA)
iii. Institute of Cost and Management Accounts(ICMA)
iv. Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA)
v. Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)
Evidence of NYSC discharge certificate.
Must be computer literate.

B. Experience:
A minimum of EIGHT (8) years post-graduation experience in Public or Private Sector will be required.


8. JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTANT 1 – (GL. 09)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification.
Must posses a good first degree in Accountancy, from a recognized institution. Possession of any of the professional qualifications in accounting from any of the following accounting bodies will be an added advantage.
i. Intermediate of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
ii. Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)
iii. Any other relevant professional qualification.
Evidence of NYSC discharge certificate.
Must be computer Literate.

B. Experience:
A minimum of Two (2) years post professional qualification in both Public and Private Sector will be required.


9. JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTANT II (GL. 08)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification.
Must possess a degree in Accountancy from a recognized Institution.
Professional qualification in Accountancy obtained at Intermediate Level from any of the following Accountancy bodies will be an added advantage.
i. Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
ii. Association of Certified and Corporate Accountants (ACCA).
iii. Chartered Institute of Public Finance (CIPF).
iv. Institute of Cost Management Accountants (ICMA).
v. Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).
vi. Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPA).
Evidence of NYSC discharge certificate.
Must be computer literate.
B. Experience:
Any experience in a similar position in the public or private sector will be required.

10. JOB TITLE: EXECUTIVE OFFICER (ACCOUNT) (GL.07)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification.
Must possess National Diploma in Accountancy, Finance or Business Administration from a recognized Institution.
Ordinary National Diploma in Accountancy, Finance or Business Administration from a recognized Institution.
Membership of any Professional body is an added advantage.
Must be Computer Literate.

B. Experience:
A minimum of THREE (3) years post qualification experience in the private or public sector will be required.


11. JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER-(GL.13)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification.
A good degree in any of the disciplines in Social Sciences or Humanities from a recognized institution.
Membership of a recognized professional Administration/ Personnel Management body is important.
Possession of Post graduate qualification e.g. M.P.A will be an added advantage.
Evidence of NYSC discharge certificate.
Must be computer literate.


B. Experience:
A minimum of Ten (10) years post qualification cognate experience in the Public or Private Sector will be required.


12. JOB TITLE: EXECUTIVE OFFICER GENERAL DUTIES (GL.07)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification.
Must possess Higher National Diploma in Business Studies/Administration or Public Administration from a recognized Institution.
Ordinary National Diploma in Business Administration or Public Administration from a recognized Institution.
Must be Computer Literate.

B. Experience:
C. A minimum of THREE (3) years post qualification experience in the private or public sector will be required.


13. JOB TITLE: PRINCIPAL PROCUREMENT OFFICER – (GL.12)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification.
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in any of the following disciplines from a recognized institution:

16. JOB TITLE: PRINCIPAL STORES OFFICER I (GL.12)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification.
I. A degree in Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration or other relevant fields from a recognized institution.
II. HND in Purchasing and Supply.
Membership of the following professional bodies:
a. Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
b. Intermediate Certificate of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Accountants or Intermediate Certificate of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants
Evidence of NYSC discharge certificate.
Must be computer literate.

B. Experience:
A minimum of Eight (8) years Post professional qualification experience in the public or private sector will be required.


17. JOB TITLE: SENIOR STORES OFFICER (GL. 09)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification.
I. HND in Business Studies or Purchasing and Supply from a recognized institution.
Membership of the following Professional bodies:
a) Intermediate Technician Scheme of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
b) Institute of Purchasing and Supply London.
Evidence of NYSC discharge certificate.
Must be computer literate
Experience:
A minimum of TWO (2) years post qualification experience in the public or private sector will be required


18. JOB TITLE: STATISTICIAN II (GL.08)
A. Academic and Professional Qualification:
Must possess a degree in statistics from a recognized University.
A degree in Mathematics or Statistics plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Statistics.
Evidence of NYSC discharge certificate.
Must be computer literate.

B. Experience:
Any experience in a similar position in the public or private sector will be an added advantage.
