JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Facility Management Advisor
Responsible to: HROD Manager
Location: Country Office, Abuja
Grade: 7
Line Management: Logistics Officer & Logistics Support Personnel
Overall purpose
The post holder who will be reporting to the Human Resource & Org. Dev. Manager will be a part of the HROD unit. S/he will be responsible for administering and maintaining all ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) facilities, oversee the logistics unit and ensure proper and efficient use of all AAN properties.
Specific Responsibilities
• Maintain general safety and security, monitor access, and maintain appearance and overall environment of ActionAid Nigeria
• Manage maintenance program; assess maintenance problems, determine need for large scale projects, and recommend proposals as appropriate
• Initiate and review maintenance plans and specifications to ensure organisational requirements are met
• inspect work in progress and evaluate completed projects to control costs and ensure work is performed as specified
• Assist in development of relevant policies to assist in efficient use of AAN properties
• Support the implementation of the zonal offices as required
• Manage in-house resources and service providers associated with performing operations and maintenance functions
• Maintain up-to-date register of preferred suppliers and perform periodic evaluation of service providers’ output (vehicle & office maintenance service providers).
• Ensure maintenance of an updated asset register
• Ensure inventory quantities are sufficient for needs by coordinating regular inventory checks and through timely ordering of supplies.
• Other duties as assigned by the line manager
Financial Management
• Prepare operational budgets for the unit and assist in preparing 3-year and annual budgets for the HROD unit of AAN and ensure the proper management of the budget.
• Ensure value for money in relating with service providers
Human Resource
• Assign work to and monitor performance of relevant personnel
• Managing, coaching, mentoring & developing staff to achieve set objectives
• Periodically appraise staff in line with AAN policy
• Assist in recruitment of staff where necessary
Key Relationships
Internal Relationships: HROD team, Finance team & AAN team.
External Relationships: Service providers

Education/
Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or arts/humanities
• Masters degree in relevant field
• Membership of relevant professional Institute
Experience • A minimum of 7 years work experience
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position.
• Experience in international development work
• Experience in handling multifaceted service providers

• Ability to provide practical solutions within set deadlines.
