Accounts Payable Executive - Registration & Reconc

Location:
Lagos, Nigeria

Reports to:
Accounts Payable Supervisor - Registration, Posting & Reconciliation

Principal Accountabilities:
OPERATIONAL/TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL RESULTS
Ensure invoice registration and coding through the SAP AP (Accounts Payable) applications is done on a timely basis to enable payment and periodic reporting to occur on time and in full.
Park registered and coded invoices in SAP.
Ensure that all invoices have correct supporting documentation and that tax and other deductions are correctly calculated.
Ensure that all vouchers/invoices and their supporting documents are invalidated after processing to avoid reuse.
Reconcile the accounts of key suppliers and staff monthly.
Process all staff payments and reimbursements as well as approve all cash advances after ensuring that they comply with finance policies and procedures.

LEADERSHIP RESULTS
Ensure that the process of advance retirement and reimbursement put in place functions efficiently and effectively.

MANAGEMENT RESULTS
Ensure that staff reimbursements are processed on a timely basis and in line with the Company’s cash payment policy, cash management objectives and the objective of being a good corporate citizen.
Check all vouchers and invoices prior to processing to ensure that Company policies and authority schedules are strictly adhered to, and that no transactions outside this policy or in excess of authority levels are processed.

RELATIONSHIP RESULTS
Maintain effective liaison with other colleagues in the AP team and the Zenith Cash Office to ensure that all vouchers and invoices are returned promptly for filing after processing.

INNOVATION RESULTS
Provide business process solutions to identified tasks using available software in use to enable faster and more effective processing of transactions


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
A good honours degree or HND in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or any other numerate discipline.
Part qualification of a relevant professional accounting body (ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, etc) would be an advantage.

KNOWLEDGE
Good knowledge of double entry book keeping and Nigerian Tax Laws.
Good knowledge of Total or Control Accounts. Ability to reconcile the subsidiary ledger to the General Ledger would be an advantage.
Must be computer literate.
