Job Description
Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a leading manufacturer of Fast Moving Consumer Goods to recruit a Group Head for its Legal and Regulatory Affairs department in Nigeria.

Responsibilities:
Participate in the articulation of Group/Corporate Office strategic goals/objectives and take ownership for communicating same to subordinates ensuring common understanding of roles, responsibilities and accountabilities.
Manage Board and Shareholder relationships and perform all secretarial and administrative duties of the organizations Board of Director’s.
Provide advisory services on issues that relate to the legal and regulatory framework and liaise with relevant regulatory bodies as required.
Manage relationships with external solicitors and ensure compliance with agreed service levels.
Draft, negotiate, administer, interpret and advise on agreements (between OpCos and their customers, and between OpCos and their suppliers) letters, forms, and other legal documents related to OpCos and the Group as required.
Vet documents held under seal and maintain proper custody of the organization’s seal.
Review and authorize all expenditure/transactions of the department in line with the approved departmental budget and the organization’s manual of authority.
Provide all guidance, leadership support and strategic directions to subordinates.
Provide overall guidance, leadership support and strategic direction in the execution of the department’s functions and activities.
Keep abreast of best practices, changes in regulation, amendment of enabling laws and proactively advise the business accordingly.

Qualification/Experience:
Must have an LLB and BL.
An LLM in Commercial law will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 15 years post call experience, with a blend of practise an industry exposure cutting across Oil & Gas, manufacturing and financial services.
Prior involvement in big ticket and complex transactions is highly desired.
Membership of relevant local and international associations is an added advantage.
In-depth knowledge of international and local business and commercial law is required.
Excellent leadership/supervisory and people management skills is required.
Strong problem-solving and creative skills and ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
Very strong negotiation and influencing skills and a rich network of relationship.
Political savvy, maturity and tact, including the ability to relate with the various interest group in the society.
Individual must have a business mindset in tackling issues.
Must be able to work effectively under pressure, must be calm, resilient and tenacious.
