An International standard Health, Beauty and Fashion Magazine, based in Lagos requires suitable candidates to fill the following positions:


EDITOR

The ideal candidate:


  1. Must be a graduate with flair for writing and good knowledge of editing.
  2. Must be able to cross check the facts, spellings, grammar, writing style, design pages, photos etc.
  3. Must be able to write Editorial contents/articles for the magazine.
  4. Must possess basic interview techniques/skills.
  5. Must be willing to deliver under tight deadlines.
  6. Must be able to identify and reject any piece of writing that appears to be plagiarized or ghost written by a writers.
  7. Shall make light as well as heavy edits to all the content for publication.
  8. Shall be responsible for all the content that is approved for publishing.
  9. Shall ensure publication's standards of performance as the Editor in Chief.
  10. Shall motivate and develop the staff under him as occasion may demand.
  11. Shall set various guidelines and policies for his subordinates.
  12. Shall conduct team meetings on a regular basis, which will keep his team members updated. Assigning responsibilities to all team members and ensuring that they are completed on time.
  13. Shall see to it that each issue/edition is full of content and no area is left empty.
  14. Shall provide appropriate orientation for new employees.
  15. Shall give team members the information technology and reference materials necessary to perform their jobs.
  16. Shall establish a good communication network with team members.



FASHION WRITER (FREELANCE/PART-TIME BASIS)

The ideal candidate:

  1. Must be a graduate with flair for writing.
  2. Must be versatile and able to turn in high quality and well researched creative contents.
  3. Must be able to write Editorial contents/articles for the magazine.
  4. Shall analyze and verify news worthy stories, information for publication.
  5. Shall gather factual information about stories, event articles through links contacts, research and/or interviews, etc.
  6. Shall write and contribute articles, features, promos, ads contents etc where deemed necessary.
  7. Shall create, invent, and/or drive content strategies for events shows, special programmes, etc.
  8. Shall research and write technical contents for programmes, events shows etc as might be assigned by the Editor.
  9. Possess basic interview techniques/skills.
  10. Must be a news savvy with a nose for details.
  11. Must be willing to deliver under tight deadlines.
  12. Must have a good working knowledge of the fashion industry.





PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER (PART-TIME BASIS)

The ideal candidate :



  1. Must be creative and put lots of ingenuity in his photography and be able to turn in high quality images for publication.
  2. Must be available to cover all Events, Shows, Activities, Interview, etc.
  3. Shall edit all photographs to ensure high quality images.
  4. Shall ensure proper handling and maintenance of the Cameras and other tools in his custody.
  5. Shall make his jobs (images) available for checks.
  6. Shall work closely with his superiors for selection of usable pictures/images.
  7. Should be ready to be available at all times and to deliver under tight deadlines.
  8. Shall establish and manage links with celebrities and high-calibre contacts and links.
  9. Shall report at the office at least three times a week.
  10. Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.
