Urgent Vacancy For Head Of Pre-Press

Our client a big Printing Press located within Ikeja Lagos is looking for a qualified individual to Head the Pre-press unit of the company. Applicant must have the following;

Qualification -
• HND/BA/B.ED In Fine or Applied Arts with specialization in Graphics or Painting.
• Other relevant certification will be an added advantage
Work Experience-
• Up to 10 years work experience within the Printing and Publishing Industry.( Pre-press or Graphic Personnel) and a thorough understanding of electronic prepress for both offset and digital press.
Computer Literacy-
• Ability to use Corel draw, PageMaker, In-design, Photoshop/Photo paint, Prinnet and PDF formats.
Job Responsibilities -
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting software problems; calling for repairs.
• Determines prepress requirements by reviewing work orders; studying design, content, and specifications.
• Arranges all shift work in pre-press.
• Supervises all layout of Graphics, pre-press planning and plate making.
• Maintains prepress files by filing and retrieving layouts.
• Obtains layout approval by submitting completed design and layout; reviewing and implementing changes.
• Develops design concepts by evaluating space requirements, type size and style, spacing, and graphics; reviewing customer's designs.
• Prepares printing plates by separating colors; operating plate making systems.
• Prepares finished page layouts by writing, editing, keying, and copying text; creating and importing graphics; converting, scanning, and enhancing documents, illustrations, and photographs, into digital images; operating proofing systems.
• Maintains quality results by editing layouts including spelling, grammar, punctuation, reproduction, clarity, and consistency; adhering to prepress standards.
• Ensures a proper management of materials and man hour records in pre-press.
• Ensures a timely report of activities in pre- press is submitted to management as at when due and reports to Production Planning Manager.
