Senior Pastor
The Senior Pastor will serve as the chief administrator of the congregation so that it might fulfill its mission and purpose as the body of Christ. The Senior Pastor will preach, teach, and administer the Sacraments and give primary leadership in the ministries of Worship, Administration, Stewardship, and Outreach.
Job Duties
Plan the weekly worship services and preach scripturally-based sermons.
Provide spiritual leadership, outreach leadership and inspiration for the church family.
Provide leadership in planning for the future well-being of the congregation.
Lead in administration of the sacraments.
Conduct weddings, funerals, baptisms.
Provide counseling.
Lead teaching programs, including Confirmation Class.
Guide and support Church policies.
Maintain a presence at all levels of church activities, including Presbytery.
Provide leadership for staff and lay leaders.
Prepare the docket and moderate Session meetings.
Maintain an informed awareness of all church activities.
Attend to his/her personal spiritual health and development.
Be involved in community affairs such as civic club membership, attendance at civic and cultural events, or other appropriate avenues.
Serve as staff liaison to the Worship, Stewardship and Human Resources Teams, and others as may be deemed appropriate.

Qualifications

Advanced educational degree and prior experience in a church large enough to require staff work or as an assistant taking part in staff work at a large church. Must be an excellent preacher, an excellent communicator and have strong leadership and administrative skills.
