Job for programme officer, monitoring and evaluation

PROGRAMME OFFICER, MONITORING AND EVALUATION, NIGERIA

A country of vast human and natural resources, Nigeria has influence over the political, social and cultural agenda throughout Africa. Yet it has a history of political instability, religious and ethnic conflict, corruption and mismanagement which have left the majority of its population still living in poverty. We are looking for an enthusiastic ‘self-starter’ who is able to lead our monitoring and evaluation activities as part of the programmes team. Ideally, you will have first-hand knowledge of Nigeria, and at least you must have a positive outlook about contributing to change here.

The ideal candidate must possess a degree, preferably in a relevant field, and must have at least three years NGO working experience. You will need:

• Significant knowledge and experience of monitoring and evaluation, including participatory approaches
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and strong IT skills
• Good knowledge of official donors such as EU, DFID, USAID
• Understanding of issues of governance, power and rights
• Significant experience of working with small, indigenous partners

You will need to be an individual who is meticulous about detail and well organized, who is able to plan, organize and prioritize a demanding workload.
