HOW TO PREPARE FOR AN INTERVIEW
There are twelve (12) types of information your recruiters seek about you in a typical interview. Knowing what these points are and how to answer interview questions that arises from them will make you better prepared and more in control of the interview process. Each is designed to showcase your best skills and qualification. Together, they make up a twelve point strategy that will enable you seal your qualification in virtually any situation. 1. Passion for the job: under this the interviewer is interested in, why you are interested in working in this field in the industry? Do you have a passion for the business? If so, why? Give specific examples of the things that excite you about the job.
2. Motivation and purpose: the interviewer will want to know why you want to work for their particular company and the most compelling case you can make to prove your interest. Do not repeat your employment history or resume.
3. Skills and experience: consider your key skill and how you will use them in the job. Think about your weaknesses and how you can minimize and balance them with your strengths.
4. Diligence and professionalism: describe your professional character, including thoroughness, diligence and accountability. Describe how you gather resources, how you predict obstacles and how you manage stress.
5. Creativity and leadership: offer proof of your effectiveness, including creativity, initiative, resourcefulness and leadership. Focus on how you can overcome problems.
6. Compatibility with the job: discuss you specific qualifications for the job and how well do they meet the requirement of the position.
7. Personality and cultural compatibility: consider your personality on the job. How you fit in with other type of personalities. What type of people would enjoy working with you? And how would the company’s customers and client react to you.
8. Management style and interpersonal skill: talk about your management style and the interpersonal skills you use with peer groups and leaders. Focus on how you work.
9. Problem – solving ability: offer proof with examples of your problem- solving skill. How you have solved difficult issues in the past and how you apply your technical skills.
10. Accomplishments: talk about situations where you delivered more than what was expected. Focus on the actions you took and the positive results you obtained.
11. Career aspiration: tailor your aspiration to the realities of the particular job and its career path. When doing this, reiterate the skills and strength you will like to develop further and how useful they are to the organization.
12. Personal interest and hobbies: here the interviewer is trying to find out whether you have a balanced lifestyle. Are your personal and career interests compatible?
