Re: Why Do Employers ask for Present Salary & Expected Salary?
well, this question is multifaceted...
well, an employer might wanna know ur present salary to c ao u place ursef [also to c if u r within their hire...as in not to expensive]...
@times ur present salary might dictate ur expected one...except in big organization where standard salary packages are already fixed....
Re: Why Do Employers ask for Present Salary & Expected Salary?
it is a criteria to either employ you or not ???
if you are too expensive you will be droped and if you are too cheap ;D ;D ;D they will be lucky to have you.
I said so because i once attended an interview where i was compelled to say my mind(90k) while others said theirs(50k,40k,70k)
well, they were called for 480k per annum(40k).IMAGINE and this is an embassy job.
thereafter, the interviewer recommended me after 3 weeks to another company based on my previous perfomance at the interview.then i was called by this new expatriate and the issue vof money came up ;D ;D ;D ;D i told him that i will go for 100k per month(counter offer to what they expected)well i was assured that i MAY be called if they consider me.
WHAT IS THERE IS THAT YOU SHOULD PRONOUNCE THE AMOUNT YOU WILL NOT REGRET LATTER WHEN YOU GET THE JOB...AN AMOUNT YOU WILL BE CONTENDED WORKING FOR...AND BE WILLING TO DO THE JOB.
